I’ve raced cars around there years ago, but never got there on a bike I had some time off work in June, so booked there and brands as they’re the two popular tracks I’ve never ridden Brands was proper good, so Cadwell’s Got a lot to live up to
Caddys a bit marmite u need to give it time to jel with it but am sure ya be straight upto speed round there no probs enjoy
But also getting crap on tyres before getting on track and having to queue as can't see the pits from paddock.
Yes not the best for that like but i always take it steady for the first lap what will clean them up aswell as get a bit more heat i to them i dont start taking tyre warmers off till the second call by time ya down there and ready ya don't have to wait to get out
Donnington on Monday, weather held off. Bloody marvelous track, don't shoot me where I stand but much preferred to Oulton.
Looks like you're going well, feck me what group were you in when we spoke a few weeks back... I think I'm on TD4 now, going quick enough I guess, but still look like an idiot on the bike (off the bike too before anyone chips in). I best get some pointers (on the bike).
Mate novice at Silverstone wasn't I and this was back in the Novice group after moving up for Oulton, Inters is just always rammed atm on every site. Got Knockhill and Cadwell booked in now well in advance so have got inters spaces for them. Sure you look a damn site more with it than I do, I swear you went in fast at Silver? My drama is I'm not getting my arse of the seat enough, that and my lines are what I'm concentrating on right now. Slow, steady and just getting the laps in whilst learning is what I'm about atm.
I stuck a camera on for a busy session at Donington yesterday if anyone's interested Quite a few Ducati's there, including a lovely looking V4R This is the data from this session:
Looks like it was a lot sunnier yesterday What camera/mic do you use as the sound is way better on your video and there's virtually no wind noise ?
It’s a GoPro hero3+ It’s tucked in behind the dash looking out the bottom of the screen. Looks like I need to carry more speed and get on the throttle sooner & harder compared to your laps and lap times. Quickest I did was 1.46.9.
The trick to Donington, like you say, is just to carry loads of speed through the corners and to use the whole width of the track. That and get on the throttle hard and early and run out of the corners wide as that’s a result of getting harder on the gas You take the long uphill left handed as two corners rather than creating one long left, so there’s probably a couple of seconds just there
