Yeah, it's been a few years since I raced in DD and I'm just as guilty of leaning on others as they were on me, but the ACU rule book says you shouldn't be doing that kind of thing, same as slip-streaming. But anyway, we're talking about tarted up road bikes here...
Completely agree with the previous comments, no need at all. Even in racing at club level, I can't remember hearing about anyone coming off because of a clipped brake lever. Maybe consider 'shorty' levers, this would minimise the risk even more. However, I suspect there isn't much risk in the first place.
It happened in the first corner in one of the races I did in DD a few years ago at Snetterton IIRC - can't remember who went down though. Or maybe the paddock grapevine got it wrong and something else caused the crash.
Well I stand corrected Dave, I still wouldn't bother with them myself. We had a horrible crash a few years back at Snett. Otei on pole, stalled and Paul Pullen clipped him as he went past (at about 50-60mph), there was carnage! I missed the debris and managed to come off all on my own on the grass.... tool Just thought I'd throw that in
Correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't Tommy Hill thrown of his bike as he was filtering down the grid when someone stepped out and hit his front brake by accident, stopped him in his tracks didn't it. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Quote from the man himself.... “Unfortunately I came onto the back of the grid and it looked busier than ever, it is a big round for British Superbikes and a big round for the Dutch fans. “I came up to the grid and I saw a lot of people running around. I got onto the front brake and before I knew it one of the mechanics from the other teams has come running out. “He hit my front brake lever and there I was flying through the air. That was going to be it but it was great work from the team to get things back together. Read More http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/north-...s-day-to-forget-84229-31897925/#ixzz2OZkIwrWy
I do like he Rizoma Bling, but these are useless your on the race track tbh. MGP/ Moto 1 & 2/ BSB & WSBK have them compulsory fitted...
i think its one of those rizoma bits that look better in the box alot of the other rizoma stuff is really nice
I think the racing point isn't really about being a dick and riding too close to others, more others riding too close to you and clipping yours. I know psychlist had a clutch lever taken off with a close pass and I may have rubbed the occasional solder or two...closer the better imo . And first lap anything can happen....gloves well off lol
