So what have you done today..?

  1. We're having the windows (including one massive non standard one) fitted to the garden room. That's if the bugger has been measured and manufactured correctly and actually fits.

  2. Checked discs and pads on Sh(C)itron. All good which was pleasing as I didnt want to splash any cash on anything so mundane. Off to walk dogs shortly then out on the bike to Oxford - back roads all the way. Woo-hoo.

  3. Waiting for a parcel that has been sent via yodel that was due friday. It's been funny because when you click the tracking number on ebay, it tells you roughly what is going on, then click yodel tracking directly on their website and it say something else.

Don't know how I missed the courier, I have a list of couriers I refuse to use

  4. Spent the morning with the traffic police trying to get my bike released. They claim to need it as 'evidence'. Given no one was killed, I did nothing wrong and the other party admitted guilt, the bike is not material to the case, besides which there must be over 100 high resolution pictures of the bike from all angles. Idiots won't let it go. The "administrative" BS here defies belief. Anyway laughs on them shine they have 30 days to close out a case and off they don't, then the Inspector of Police get involved at which point the fun starts. Day 14 and counting.

Somehow it seems to be two steps forward one step back. Yesterday was a good day pain wise, today everything hurts... Poo.

  6. I must say Terry, despite having a new summer house being built to adorn your new build house, you’re being a bit of a miserable sod about it!
    :)

  7. Not miserable at all (apart from the paying bit :p) but I have been in and around the construction industry for 40 years now. I know what can and does go wrong. And no one ever learns from the mistakes.

I'll give you a quick example.......My builder said the extension would take 4-5 weeks. I said it'd take at least 3 months (knowing lead times on products etc). I'm going to be nearest with my prediction. Unless of course he meant 4-5 weeks of activity over a 3 month period ;)

  8. Just checked for a mudguard that I bought off Ebay - purchased last weekend, shows posted Royal Mail on Tuesday - Shows refused and sent back to sender on Thursday, no one was in all day, no card in door, nothing - just sent message to sender and waiting on the phone to speak to the Royal Mail

  9. It seems quite dark given how much glass is involved? How many bikes are you allowed to keep in there? :D

  10. :D - that's gonna be a real test :D

  11. On your gabled end what are those roof plate straps securing ?

  12. And they say the sender addressed it to York, but a totally different number and street to mine!

  13. The plot thickens - remembered I had sent it to the Ebay Click and Collect address after I opened a case.
The Click and Collect address is a shop round the corner - Ebay reviewed my case and simply found against me and a refund will not be issued! And it's there fecking address! Spent half an hour on the phone, in between discussing directly with the buyer who didn't put a return address on! He's found it at his central sorting office and will pick up tomorrow! Ebay wanted to credit me but told them to leave it for now as I want the item and the seller wants me to also. He's checked his other item posted the same day and that was also a click and Collected - it's showing one filed delivery and a note to re attempt!
The person I was put through to the 'Click and Collect' Irish call centre couldn't understand it - and a Click and Collect delivery shouldn't have a case closed as refused! No shit sherlock  but he also said if the seller printed the address label off Ebay (which he did) it wouldn't have the eCP number on it for collection - unless he wrote it on by hand. Seller says the eCP number is there, he phoned his wife to check what the label screen shows.
Crazy kids out there as well as on here :bucktooth:

  15. I still use it but always check who the courier is. I've noticed a lot of chinese companies are showing as uk sellers now but if you scroll to the near bottom of the page o the left hand side, you'll see an address in china, this normally means the two or three days quoted for delivery, rarely are.

  16. Never really had any issues over the last 4 years as a seller - only 2 or 3 that they resolved with me (that they caused in the first place)
I am approaching 3000 positive feedbacks with no negatives :innocent:

  17. Well so far I’m impressed with how the garden room seems to have transformed the kitchen/dining area and it makes the whole area look huge. The windows and doors are all in and the building is secure. Just a few bits of trim to be fitted tomorrow morning and that’s that bit done.

Tomorrow the builder’s back with the plumber and plasterer and we should have hit a major milestone in the build programme :)
