Thanks. Tippi's, by all accounts, a pure bred Dobermann Pinscher, so we'll see just how much of a softie I can afford to be... she has a wonderful temperament and barks about once every ten days. She's training us to reward her for doing as she's told, so it all seems to be going swimmingly..
Good on yer, BP, gorgeous dog. I don't know why folks treat them so badly, but I am glad there are folks like yourself who come to the rescue sometimes. Best Regards, SH
Thanks hellcat. To be honest, everywhere I go the ladies all love him. He loves the attention. The breed was first introduced to put good blood back into the German Shepherd breed as hip displasia etc was a huge problem. Leendart saarloos first crossed them in 1921. He has the german shepherd guarding insticts, huge seperation anxiety and hunts like a wolf. I am always on alert when out with him! He rarely gets left on his own, he works with me, comes to the pub with me etc. Only when I am out on my bike is he on his own. He now has a passport and went to france with me last august for 3 weeks, he went down a storm over there too as most dog owners we met had little tiny breeds. As you can tell, I am a dog man
He's stunning . Very much a one man dog then . My dog hated being left you did not dare for long as she used to howl so on the whole she came everywhere even on most holidays. When she did go to a kennel they asked that she was not brought back again as she was a nightmare. The protest carried I the whole time she was at the kennel .. Nothing wrong with being a dog man. If only I could have another.
Bloody fish !!!!!! I've always loved fish since I was tiny of the pet kind . Fav being carp . Always had carp. A few years break when I kept big tropicals. Me and my Grandfather used to go carp fishing or when I was small I'd wade into ponds with a huge net and catch them. When my Grandad died the next day I went to the aquatic shop and there was a ghost carp on its own.. So I brought it.. It's killed little fish .. Eat like a horse then outgrew its tank . I now have it in a huge corner tank. Which would have beenĀ£600 new but got and as new one . Carp are greedy .. When young Archie used to dance for food , bang the tank splash about until you fed him. Now Archie is pretty big ... Has decided won't eat any old stuff .. This week I got some cheaper food .. Not impressed wouldn't touch it!! Brought expensive food .. Spat it out. Then thought Tiger nuts ... They go berserk for them fishing . Off I trudge through the snow and buy him some ready cooked tiger nuts. He spat them out .. Chopped them up as suggested and scraped skin off .. Waited for frenzy .. Not interested... Not ill just fussy bad tempered fish! Oh he is a she .... She can now wait til Monday where I now have to drive out of town to buy her wheat germ food she likes so much .. Who'd think a big fish would be fussy ! I shall now ignore her dancing and splashing and ripping stuff out of the bottom
Awww they are wonderful dogs . Also known as clown dogs . affectionate and funny. I have a list of 4 dogs I would consider . another daschshound , English Bull terrier , French Bulldog or if I had the room Curly coated retrievor. Is he / she white then? Sadly alot of white ones and other animals are deaf. I love their big bat ears
@fujack View attachment 12933 Does he / she look like this I do love them such expressive dogs .. I wish my life was settled so I could have a dog again. I so could do with the company right now .. They love you so unconditionally .
I currently have two with me at work this week as I am looking after my dad's whilst he is away. I could not put timber in the kennels, he would go berserk. When I go away he comes with me, hence his passport.
