Hi, having covered a few more miles running in the new bike, I am dissapointed withn the part throttle fuelling, ie riding 3rd gear in a 3omph limit, not very clean, is this something a main dealer can sort or is it deeper, I plan to go large tank, pod filters but wish to keep quiet exhausts, any suggestions/reccomendations?
try balancing the throttle bodies and resetting the TPS ...that usually works or mayb drop a tooth on the front sprocket
Deffo not poor fuelling, as said before drop a tooth on the front sprocket, the original gearing does not feel comfy at any speed really, even 6th at 80mph feels lumpy, go from a 15 to a 14 and it will transform the ride I assure you, that's what I did and its superb now, sounds like you need to learn how to ride a twin, apologies if that sounds odd or offends in any way.
Hi thanks for the comments, this is my 1st non carbed duke, (33 years & 200k miles of duke riding), expecting perfect fueling. the, the need for 3rd @ 30 is that 2nd is too jerky, will get it checked at 1st service as can't be normal, cut out twice this morning when cold too.
I can't account for the EVO but my 1100S was a bit lumpy at slow speeds until I put a 14T sprocket on it. Then 2nd gear was ideal for up to 30mph. Having said that, my 1100EVO Monster was never as smooth as my Hypermotard and I was never really as enthusiastic about the feel of the engine. Perhaps it is something about the EVO engine - emissions etc. It can't hurt to take it back to the dealer and just get them to check it out, especially if it is cutting out. At least you seem to be lucky with the weather. I don't think you would want to be out riding if you lived near me .
