In answer to the first ? I can see it could be from that angle but in actual fact it’s a bunch of poorly and weirdly shaped bushes when viewed from any other angle In answer to the 2nd ? it’s par for the course for threads to go off topic or be hijacked so I’m glad I’m response to the 3rd I’m sure the majority, if not all, of the forum have an interest in topiary just not of the green hedge kind. Brazilian anyone
First stop today. The National Motorcycle Museum. Wow. What a selection of British bikes there are there and so many, there must be £50million+ of bikes there, many of them unique and irreplaceable. The first picture below is a Vincent Black Prince something or other. Apparently the only one of that particular variant in existence and, at its time, the fastest motorcycle in the world at 135mph. The fella behind is servicing it because, despite, its rarity it’s just come back from being “raced” by him at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Then, in no particular order there’s a few other snaps.
The steak was shite. Still, the beer’s just £2.90/pint and the whiskey £2.70/shot (but smaller shots than back home had to have a double). I might stay here at these prices
After the NMM visit earlier, I hearses west, through Brum, our to Kidderminster then ontowards Telford. Came across this great little stop on the A442 between Kidderminster & Bridgenorth, complete with a purple Monster
In fact that route A442 from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth and then A458 to Shrewsbury is a cracking road. Complete with a great photo opportunity at Much Wenlock - well me trying to be arty anyway
From Shrewsbury I picked up the A5 and, after the dual carriageway bits, was looking forward to a great run all the way through Wales and the Snowdonia National Park. Alas, not to be. Just after Llangollen I hit slow moving traffic. When I eventually get to the front of it just before Corwen it turns out to be two massively wide and long loads complete with convoy support vehicles and police outriders. Vestas wind turbine equipment to be installed on the hills. 20 miles of 25mph avg speed with a police rolling roadblock preventing oncoming traffic and police bikers preventing overtaking. Even on the one short DC section. Tedious. Eventually they turned off and the throttle was opened
Yep. Spot on EDITED. Well, she may not be a tart but she was a she. A bit butch mind you IMO, but deffo a she.
Do you know what? I plan to call into Ducati Rosso in Dublin tomorrow and have a look. I do fancy a test ride, the only trouble is they’re 4+hrs from home so I’ve got to organise a day & night away. This may take a while . But..... they just seem so big compared to what I’m used to, . . . said the Actress to the Bishop
I know, but the timing isn’t right at the moment. I don’t have the money in my ‘Bike Kitty’ at the moment to splash out on that without selling my Monster and my 748 and my 748 is still in pieces so can’t even be offered for sale. Realistically, with the summer here it’ll be 2 months before she’s back together and in ‘as new’ condition again. Hmmm
On the ferry now, heading back to Ireland. It was another B&noB I stayed in again (and yes, more red again, what is going on?) so I may as well finish the trip the way I started Healthy eating starts tomorrow.
