British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. I made joke. I apologise.

Are we talking radicalisation, here? And how do we know whether it is a question of Leaver to Brexiteer, rather than Believer in Democracy to Outraged Believer in Democracy who has seen their vote ignored by the Establishment?

  2. My original post about it was meant to be funny too, oh well.

Maybe radialisation ? ( can you still get cross ply tyres )

An awful lot of arguments have strengthened my belief that the U.K. should leave the Eu. It’s a shame there wasn’t more of it before the referendum, I wouldn’t have been so nervous and could have put a good solid X in that box.

  3. and funnily enough, its having the opposite affect up here.

  4. It’s arguments like the Eu can get what they currently get from the U.K. elsewhere that I don’t understand - are the U.K. that reliant on the other Eu countries for essential things and will they not want to trade with us if we ever leave ?

Scotland was predominantly remain all along wasn’t it ?

  5. The thing to remember Alan, is that the EU trades with the UK as a favour and out of a sense of affection. The EU gets nothing else at all out of it.

By turning our backs on their Club, the EU is effectively receiving a slap in the face. The EU will therefore no longer do us the favour of trading with us, which they only did out of the kindness of their hearts and will instead take their generosity, philanthropy and largess elsewhere.

I cannot believe how ungrateful those flaming Brexiteers have been throughout this.

  6. yip 62% remain, every council, including the council seats that have the one and only business sector we have. fishing. *sigh*.
maybe because the threat of losing EU membership, played such a big part of the 2014 reff. we where looking at the EU before the media went full bore against the EU and minds where set then, or at least the homework was done before farage bombarded our screens.
many of your brexiteers will say, trade second, sovereignty first. why should it be any different for us up here? we have democratic institutions that where hard won and are overwhelmingly supported. they where even supposed to be strengthened and made permanent. it didn't happen. they even changed laws retrospectively to stop us challenging the changes they where making to the scotland act to allow the power grab while the case was being heard in the supreme court. english votes for Scottish laws anyone?.
    lead us, dont leave us.
an equal partner in a nation of equals.
    Aye, OK. whatever.
Brexit undermines our Gov and our Sovereignty. a majority now say it aint happening.

swap EU for UK, that was, and remains the only argument the rUK have, and play it on repeat.

  16. I had 3 huge Scotlands last night!!! But I'm good to go now o_O

  17. considering EU nationals and 16-17 year olds, possibly the most pro EU group of all? had a vote, it would of played its part. we had a much longer campaign. about 3years off bitter together, no pro ind MSM, and the same people now telling us the EU is Shit where the same people telling us back then that the EU was the Dugs Nuts. the week before the 18th of the 9th 2014 the polling was suggesting 54% yes, before the vow, and all the promises of increased sovereignty.
