Thanks Harry, good to hear you are in better times back-wise. You are right about the threshold thing, the pain is generated by your brain in the first place so 30 odd years of telling it not to do it must start to have an effect in the end, surely. How lucky it is that no pain is generated while unconscious as would have had a drastic effect on surgery and operations. It's worth having a thought for all the poor buggers who got operated on, had amputations performed while awake and little or no anasthetic.
