heated gloves that fit into the bikes power outlet? Guys are any of you mutley owners using heated gloves powered straight out of the powers socket. If so would you send me a link or make and model of gloves. COld weather is getting to me and am struggling to understand what type of connection needed to plug in the outlet. Or even if the outlet is for that. help appreciated.
I use Gerbing heated gloves (and inner jacket), had them for a few years & they are excellent. I don't have a Multistrada & nor does my bike have a power socket so the lead is wired to the battery. I believe Gerbing heated kit does have connectors that can be used with motorcycle power sockets. I have the Keiss heated vest and gloves, c/w the 5 position controller, all plugged directly into the bike. In conjunction with the factory heated grips you can ride in pretty much any temperature (tyre grip permitting of course!). The power lead on mine is fed down the right side fairing and cable tied to the sub-frame, just behind my right calf. The gloves are fed from short leads in the vest armpits - all in around £200 from memory? Worth every penny IMHO?
hI i dont want to plug direct into battery. Nsm3 are you saying the keys controller attachment fitted the ducati Multleys power sockets.? If so ill get them...
Check out the Gerbing accessories via the web link. Should give you another option to plug into the power socket.
No, my power lead is directly connected to the battery. The jacket/gloves then plug into this lead and pull apart easily if you come off/forget to unplug then dismount the bike. Why don't you want to connect to the battery, it is a far better/more secure option than using the Powerlet sockets as the adapters can fall out on the move in my experience? You may be able to get the Powerlet adapter connection or easily make one up? http://www.powerlet.com/product/powerlet-to-two-coax-y-cable/12 The above would work.
Plymouth, 'Nippy Normans' (BMW) sell a 90 degee DIN plug (and a straight one I think) that you can easily fit to the heated garments with screws and it fits the Ducati sockets perfectly. If it works - here is the link OPTIMATE AND SOCKETS - Nippy Normans Just check the maximum current draw/amps of your kit versus the 10 Amp fuse rating on the sockets. That gives you 120 watts to play with so shouldn't be a problem. Hope that helps.
I have the Gerbings gloves with the powerlet fitment. The powerlet fitment fell out atleast 10 times on the left side of the bike, I then moved it to the right side and it didnt fall out once, they are angled slightly differently.
I've got Keis gloves and they can be plugged into the standard power outlet via a convertor to the normal UK size plug but the easier option is to buy the adaptor that lets you plug into an Optimate socket if you've got one.
