I’ve advertised my 748R 02 on Autotrader (at https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201907029651090) but I’m not sure it’s the right place to attract potential buyers so thought I’d try posting it here. Here are the details from my ad… I’ve loved riding my iconic 2001 Ducati 748R (always on dry days) but I use it less as I get older, so it’s time to sell. It's in great condition, handles superbly, and has been kept it in my garage connected to a battery conditioner (included in sale) since 2007. 2 previous owners, 16,569 miles, MOT to 30/7/2019. Equipment includes Ohlins suspension and steering damper, Brembo brakes, Termignoni carbon exhausts plus original Termignoni stainless steel exhausts, Marchesini wheels, carbon hugger, etc. Serviced since 2008 at Baines Racing (Silverstone) with cam belts changed 2,250 miles ago, last serviced 1,250 miles ago. All paperwork present, including PDI certificate, sales invoice, service book, owners manual, MOTs, service and parts receipts since 2007, clear HPI check (2/7/2019). Datatag and Alpha Dot security markings. 2 keys. I can only offer a test ride with full payment in advance (cash or bank transfer), refundable on returning the bike undamaged. Please phone or email with any questions and to arrange inspection. Based on previous asking and selling prices (there aren’t that many of course as I read that only 150 748Rs were sold in the UK) I’m asking £8,595 but will discuss any reasonable offer. Location - near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.
Thanks for the welcome guys (and/or gals? - mustn't make assumptions ). Brettski - I'm just a few miles away from Aylesbury (Buckinghamshire).
Welcome Sean, a good looking bike and I’d say in the right ball park price wise. GLWS. ps, don’t be a stranger once it’s sold, this is a great forum. pps. What are you planning to replace it with?
Ah, handy for that lovely stretch from the A41 turn at Blackthorn, down the B4011 through Oakley to Long Crendon. Probably my favourite local bit of road to ride.
Thanks Paul, especially for the assessment of the price. I'm afraid I'm not thinking of a replacement - I'm the wrong side of 60 and the combination of low riding position stressing my back, and the generous assortment of potholes around Bucks and Oxon means my riding days are over
Yes but it doesn't fix the potholes, unfortunately . I'm just going to have to console myself with watching MotoGP.
Get a monster! Pot holes hurt so much less than in my 848. You aren’t even close to being old enough to quit. I’ve just done a 2000 mile tour of Picos with a guy in his mid to late 60’s on a hyabusa
