Post lunch, thought I was better than I was, overconfident from surviving the morning session and with adrenaline blinding me to how tired i really was ... I misjudged a left and used the front brake. Bike sat up... I obviously didn’t make the turn and went straight on to the grass... and then after flying along above the bike a while (very bumpy) used the front brake again like a massive noob. The bike and I parted company and both rolled quite a few times. I still have a big lump under my ribs 4 years later which no one has ever really explained to me. I’m particularly keen not to experience anything like this again
and thats the point there are a wide and varied source of tyres going to be on track you cant generalise around something so important as tyre pressures. Pirelli slicks 36 front 24 rear..and of course hot pressures versus cold..
I should have stayed at the premier inn - didn't think that was the mostly likely place for people to be staying at *blush* Am staying at an airbnb - I might swing by to the bar at the premier inn for an orange juice to say hello Please all wear a red carnation (at the track day too) so I can easily identify you.
If anyone is interested in a Novice place at Silverstone next Wednesday then please contact me.. Unfortunately family illness means I am probably going to be unable to attend.
