  1. The Bear
    Bears
    Paddington
    Grizzly
    Superman 2
    Teorema.

  2. Driving home from a "delightful" morning in the supermarket , I was still trying to name the espionage movie with Hackman and Will Smith ..... Ha !

    That's definitely a multi-watchable movie .
Good performances from the supporting actors ... Jack Black , whoever played Will Smith's wife , and also the CIA goons.....
.... and Lisa Bonet , while she was still reasonably sane
.... not that it matters .

And the person that edited that movie did a stunning job ... nobody ever notices their work.

Hmm .... "Unforgiven (no Hackman) " .... you lost me with that .

  4. I’m not much of a film buff these days, but I think it’s Clint Eastwood who is memorable in unforgiven from 1960, (Seen it several times but memory shot) and unless it’s had a remake, I couldn’t see Gene Hackman* in the credits, but could be me.

*see? I nearly said Gene Roddenberry from Kiss.

    ...... and it's excellent !

I never even knew that it was a remake until I read this just now

  6. Most of my faves have been mentioned already, but:

“Rush” about the hunt and lauda f1 battle. Feels infinity watchable over and over again. Oh and ladies - you get to see Thor’s naked arse

“Eddie the eagle” really surprising this one. I watched it on a plane and expected it to be shite - but it was great. Really good characterisation, had you rooting for Eddie and ramped the tension up. I actually ended up cheering at one point. Then I remembered I was on a plane, and everyone was looking at me....

Pretty much anything by Christopher Nolan - but I adore both inception and interstellar. Dunkirk is also an awesome film

  7. Layer Cake

Great performances from Michael Gambon and Kenneth Cranham as the "wise" ageing gangsters .
And Daniel Craig plays Daniel Craig extremely well :)

  8. One of the great crime films of the modern era. For sheer entertainment, it is hard to match it. Plus it clearly sealed Craig's future as a 007.

  9. How could I forget...….

    The Shawshank Redemption

  10. Bad Santa

Billy Bob Thornton at his best ..... playing a total misery who's just had enough .
But it's Bernie Mack and John Ritter who steal the show as store detective and manager .

Definitely not suitable for kids !

there's a great scene on Youtube but I couldn't decide if I should link it ....
.... the language is a little strong !

Searching this will find it ( if anyone is that interested :) )

  12. He knocked it out of the park in "Being John Malkovich".

I couldn't imagine anyone else in that role.

  13. Winner , winner .....

Malkovitch calmly telling the stooge that he's done a good thing by murdering some Russian gangsters ....

" It's one less car on the roads , a bit less noise "

and then there is " Being John Malkovitch "
It's a head-twister ..... and Cameron Diaz and John Cusack are ace .

  14. Ha !
You must have heard me typing .
I've read that the Russians actually did that in the low-tech cold war era .

  15. Watched Silverado last night which has a good cast and is a very good tongue in cheek western.
