Some incredible advice in this thread - the hospitality of the Irish shining through. Paul, I have copy and pasted your southern route and fully intend to do it one day (probably when my kids have left home lol - so in about 10 years!).
Cheers for all your help I’ll try my best to come say hello, Whereabouts would I find you Monday lunch time ish Rich
In Ballydehob. If you follow my suggested route it’s about 12km (but a good ride with a stunning view from the top of the hill if the weathers good which is forecast) from where you rejoin the N71 just outside Bantry. If you take the N71 all the way from Cork (which I strongly advise against due to all the resurfacing works underway) you’ll end up in Ballydehob anyway. I’m working in Budd’s restaurant on the daytime shift. Have a good trip.
You’re welcome anytime. There are some great, relatively traffic free, routes around SW & W of Ireland but there’s also some shite ones so I’m happy to help.
We are here All is good And have a good night down on the front with the black stuff. All being well we’ll see you later Rich
Well I’m home early due to the fact my shoulders couldn’t take the Irish punishment plus my mate didn’t want to go to Scotland we did over 1000 miles and I’ll put up some photographs when I get a chance, anyone wanting to buy an 899 give me a shout. Rich
Great little country! I was in Fanore, Co Clare last weekend and couldn't get over the amount of bikes travelling along the Wild Atlantic Way route. Great to see.
Sorry to hear about your shoulder problems Rich. That looks like a great trip though and one I have just added to the list.
Have you done anything with the seat on the Hyperstrada? Mine bike was fine for comfort on my recent NC500 trip on the legs, arms, wrists and back but the seat got quite uncomfortable at times.
I did 300 miles and about 10 hours around Wales yesterday with no problem I think mine is the journey low seat but that’s going ebay as I what the more look of a Hypermotard one
I know there is a comfort seat option, but I don't want to go lower because of my height. I had read that some people dislike the Hyperstrada seat as it forces you into one poision and I certainly found that. A flatter seat that i could move about on would have been welcome.
