Good to see some of you again and some new, only stopped briefly. Looked busy. Thanks for hospitality Bret and Jo, see you end of August if not before. I hope everyone had a good day and kept it upright.
Just got back and unloaded. We were fortunate with the weather which was cool and a little windy which kept the clouds moving. As in previous years CSS have no organisational skills nor were they able to maintain discipline on the track, which in the Inters, was appalling. Good to meet a few old faces and few new faces and a shame that the day is so full on, you don't get much time for a chin wag. I think all our lot were incident free, although an 1199 SL and a D16RR had a coming together in the Novice group, and at least 1 Inter undertook and chopped a nose once too often which was the only red flag in the Inters. I think there were a couple of red flags in the fast group. All in all a good day. Andy
Discipline in the novices seemed ok. I don't know what it was like before (well I sort of do because I've done the Silverstone half marathon twice but never been on it in a vehicle) but to my newbie eyes it felt VERY smooth and consistent.
What happened? I saw two guys on the side - one had a flourescent orange bike but he was able to ride back to the pits.
You did great dubcat. Was a pleasure spending time with you. Small steps each time you do these sort of days, and you’ll become smoother and ultimately faster... Glad your ride home was so positive.... catch up again sometime.
Ah ok - I have a feeling the second red flag just came out to get us off the track quickly so next group was not impacted. ?Hoping that's the case and there wasn't another accident...
Indeed - but they did extend one of the other sessions by what felt like a decent amount of time. Does anyone know if there’s a website where you can see/buy the photos that were being taken?
The They came together on one trailer, looked like having some fun and out braked them selves didn’t look to be any damage to speak off ( hopefully)
Glad y’all had a great day. You were indeed super lucky with the weather. It absolutely pissed it down when I got home from the airport (south Yorkshire). Garage flooded- bailing out till 8 last night!
It was a good day yesterday, weather was very kind to us. Have to say though I will be thinking twice about doing the Silverstone trackway next year. I thought the level of riding in the novice group was awful. With some, you stood more chance of picking the winning lottery numbers than the line they were taking into and out of the corners. I know we all have to start somewhere, i did, but at least I had some sense as to what a racing line is and how to follow one. There was supposed to be no overtaking coming into or out of corners, seemed to be a free for all for me You spent a good 4-5 minutes of your session sat at the end of the pit lane on every session waiting for them to check your wristband and helmet chin strap, why? Circuit was good though. I would say they need to consider 4 groups next time perhaps or reduce the numbers down
Yes it was a very mixed group of abilities. Although the whole overtaking thing I didn’t really get. Was a cracking day though!
Very mixed I would say. Afternoon sessions were a lot better than the morning ones, but still some awful riding by some Yes, it was a good day but a little frustrating to say the least. I enjoyed riding Silverstone for the first time
