Vale made me slow down the most I think. I probably got most corners wrong but that one seemed to come back on itself.
Nor would anyone else who was on their first track day or 10th for that matter. The disclaimer on the bottom of the page linked, pretty much says it all. If you had fun, didn’t scare yourself too shitless or damage anything, it was a good day. Frustration is part and parcel of riding, sometimes you get it right and sometimes you don’t. The biggest thing to be aware of is just how addictive track days can become and believe me there is no cure Andy
Well, there kind of is. Continual visits to A&E in an ambulance have the affect of damping one's willingness....
Yep I was particularly slow on Vale also.. I loved maggots and Beckett's though. It felt like I got those right once or twice (in my mind it did anyway... probably at least 40mph slower than the fast group!) Glad there's a reasonable run off at copse also... I was a little bit ambitious going into that a few times towards the beginning!
Had a good day and enjoyed it, wasn't sure what it was going to be like after queuing for nearly 40 minutes to get into the pits, have never had to do that before at Silverstone, but that's the way it was so, so be it ! Was in the same pits as Moto rapido who had Tommy Bridewell and John Hopkins with them and also the BSB bike which is a work of art ! Had 5 good sessions on track and only 1 yellow flag all day which is ace, weather was kind, had 2 laps in the last session were there was a bit of mental rain at the end of hanger Straight, but it soon stopped and all was good. So yeah good day was had, put the go pro on in the afternoon, a few messy lines etc but it's one for the memory bank and not the wank bank lol
Silverstone have started checking riders in as they arrive at the circuit. Bloody stupid and causes unnecessary delays!
If it was to stop people having their stiff nicked during the day, I’m sure most would accept it. But not sure it does.
Really, thought that maybe it was just because it was being run by CSS and it's something they do normally.
Silverstone days do it to. If you can't figure out what garage to go to you should probably not be allowed to ride a motorcycle.
Hope I didn't get in your way on my clattery old 900SS Dibs. Thought I recognised the name on your leathers in pit lane. Enjoyed the day, occasional cases of people diving up inside just as I'm turning in excepted. First time in intermediates so wasn't sure what to expect, knew I'd be toast on the straights with all of 80hp to play with but had fun. Guy with the white 959 was pushing it across Vale when I got there, think he may have parked it on the outside in the firing line as they chucked a red flag shortly after. Queue in was a pain, but overall a good day.
Just been looking at the photos online and saw the desmo on the deck which was very unfortunate. But I can't believe his mate! Actually stopping , then facing and riding the wrong way on the track!!
