1200 DVT Losing The Front

  3. You lifted the forks? What about dropping them a fraction?

    Let’s be clear, by the looks of the photo you lifted the yokes up the forks, thus fractionally extending the wheelbase.

    Surely if you dropped the yokes down the forks, just a little it would shorten the wheelbase, albeit fractionally, put more weight on the front end and I would have thought turn quicker.
    And perhaps with more weight forward steady it a little.

    I’m sure there will be views along shortly.

    If you’ve ridden a 1200 and a 1260 you’ll find the longer wheelbase 1260 turns slower. Just a little. Well, that’s certainly what it felt like to me.

    Or just fit a steering damper.

  4. He dropped the yokes down the forks about 10mm looking at the two pictures which is what you are saying with different words :):upyeah:
     
  5. Dropped the yokes or lift the forks, as you prefer. Front of the bike went down 14mm.
    Yes, it improved the cornering a lot!

    About stability at high speed, not that much, I still intend to play a bit with suspension adjustment. Not that I run high speed all the time, but occasionally when opportunities come, I just want the bike to handle it as it was before, for a short blast. A matter of trust.
     
  6. I dropped my forks on an old 900 monster, a long time ago but I think it made a positive difference
