Geneva for a couple of days, then Morzine for a couple of days where we'll be meeting a friend and his family to help him celebrate his 50th birthday, then Montreux for a few days where no doubt I will be singing "Smoke on the water" at every opportunity.
Went into Aldi and bought one of their cheap Fleetwood Mac Sat Nav systems. Don't bother wasting your money - all it says is "Go your own way"
Unlike poor Paul "sprocket-gate" Phillips, I managed to get the wheels off the 748r and back on again, no worries. It is now shod with some Battleaxe S22's. Weather broke late pm so had a blat around - 80 miles of nirvana. What a bike! I kept on saying to myself, "new tyres, take it easy" but the old devil on the shoulder intervened after around 35 miles. Wow, this bike can corner and then some. I am, once again, a very happy chappie. Oh yeah, I am impressed with the rubber too.
When do you arrive? I have just arrived home for 24hrs, heading to London Friday morning for the weekend and maybe Silverstone on the 12th; clever plan leaving a track bike at Donington then back here mid next week!
Some sad news today The managing director of Dulux paints has died of hypothermia while trecking across the Antarctic. Paramedics said he could have done with another coat
We arrive Wednesday afternoon I think. You’ll have to forgive my lack of details as SWMBO has been doing all the arrangements and I’ve just been shelling out for it. I think she’s got us staying the first couple of of nights in an Airbnb in a place called Vessy which is near Geneva.
So far this week I have been an advocate for Yeleni they provide complementary therapies 9 sessions free with a cancer diagnosis Anyone using them as a normal client part of the fee goes towards the free sessions We met with the manager of Dunelm which went well My American cousins are doing a flying visit so we met up last night, I found out a lot more about my northern (Liverpool) family He emigrated to Boston as a young boy So much to learn in this life let’s live it
Popping over to dads soon. Although fit for his age, he has largely lost upper body strength and has found himself stuck in the bath and unable to get out. It has provided some chuckles but the serious side has caused him and us some worries, so after a chat to the occupational therapist department through the county council, they are coming around today to assess him to remove the bath and turn it into a wet room/shower room.
That happened to my dad too. From memory I think it cost £4500 to have the bathroom converted :/ On the plus side I have just booked the Diavel in to have a full termi system fitted after my jollies
