You have to take your hat off & show respect for this man's commitment/rider style change at his age with much younger guns around. https://www.motorsport.com/motogp/news/rossi-2020-yamaha-brno-test/4509179/
Haters will hate. But 40 yrs old, in a young man's sport, and still knocking in top 5 performances ahead of his young teammate.
Marquez is a force of nature, if you take Marc off the table then Vale is still putting in great performances. With #99 underperforming and Vale being historically not always a Yamaha rider I'd have loved to have seen a final flourish with Honda or Aprilia to close out his days... that lifetime Yamaha ambassador role is likely his though.
I wouldn't call myself a "hater", but I'd have said "40 yrs old, in a young man's sport, and only knocking in top 5 performances". Maybe it's time to retire gracefully and let a younger rider have a top bike? He's had a good innings.
Isn't about time a different manufacturer started winning the championship?,as this year i've not stayed in to watch many races as very predictable these days.
I loved his comment about it being time they got a new bike as last year they just got a new front fender and that was the extent of the bike development
We can make exceptions to the rule for Vale. As for young riders would that not be his current teammate,LOL
He's "our" Ago, Sheene or Hailwood... I'll be sad when he retires, as in my mind he's still the cheeky kid doing daft things and I still enjoy his interviews... and every time I lie and use the word "sincerely" with a smile on my face I think of Rossi...
Or those other famous words......................................"For Sure" No other italian rider quite like him & he will be missed^^^^
