Could just be the crankcase breather leaking? However, it seems a bit cheap to me and Im always dubious when it’s being sold ‘for a friend’
I do not think that oil stains the paint (be it from the breather or the cylinder base) whereas exposure to petrol which has more solvent content/capability does, but I might be wrong. The fuel tap is just about above the stained area.

Mmmm, and not a proper one with history - does that mean Ducati track bikes are now double or treble the road versions as that would put 2 of my 1098R's at around £50k each
Think these guys were at the Classic Racing a couple of weeks ago. Looks great, but at least triple (if not quadruple) what its worth IMO
