British Indy: What Happens Now?

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

  2. Can you be a little more specific? What do you really want Brexit to be - that would make you consider it had fully happened?

  3. Of the top of my head and probably not an exhaustive list ...
    Any deal that infringes upon:
    • The UK's ability to set its own laws.
    • The UK's ability to adjudicate on its own legal cases without interference/direction from the ECJ.
    • The UK's ability to administer its own tax regime.
    • The UK's ability to administer its own territorial waters.
    • The UK's ability to administer its own industries, provide state aid/incentives and build whatever products it feels it can do, competitively (or otherwise).
    • The UK's ability to negotiate its own trade deals.
    • The UK's autonomy with regard to its own Armed Forces - the funding, administering, deployment of same.
    • The UK's ability to build whatever vessels and vehicles it needs in respect of said Armed Forces.
... is a deal that leaves us "partly" in the EU and as we have already discovered, in the case of Switzerland and Norway, if you are partly in the EU, you ARE in the EU. Thus none of these is acceptable nor do they represent "Brexit".

  4. I’ve dug myself a hole haven’t I :)

Regulatory in what sense - trade regulations ? Workers rights etc ?

I am probably being too simplistic about it all, I don’t see why we need 800 odd MEPs for countries to trade together etc.

  12. If we don't leave the EU our politicians will loose what little credibility they still have both here and world wide
There a joke now how can the UK be taken seriously again
Can't believe we're going cap in hand to the French and Germans

  13. The EU cannot possibly agree anything regarding Ireland avoiding a hard border, even if it is proven beyond doubt the UK suggestion is workable. Because if they did they would have to implement it for all borders removing a hard border for anyone.

    And that ain't gonna appen

  14. The WA as envisaged by the EU and promoted by Treasoner May would have broken the GFA. Discuss.
