749 749rs Build

  1. As far as the engine kit goes I have the machined heads, Y cams, exhaust and velocity stacks but yet to find some intake manifolds .. I’m after some wider cam pulleys and titanium tensioner rollers and a race gearbox.
I’m trying to build an 04 Briel replica bike and it’s all the smaller corse parts that are a challenge to find.. I’m slowly getting there but always looking for leads...
The battery box hardware was from a seller on eBay....

  2. Thanks final edition. I’ve been getting a few bits from Kevin over time.... a great source

  3. Contact the race teams who ran in the sstock series. Maybe they have parts.

In what way were the inlet manifolds different?

  4. Ok good idea.. I’m really not sure about the manifolds...maybe someone could shed some light on this...

  5. you can take the rubber manifolds of the standard 749 and grind them a little larger to match the inlet of the 749RS kit heads and the bottom of the velocity stacks.

  6. What are the power gains for the 749 with the kit?

  7. The 749 kit velocity stacks are shorter than std. I guess they run better that way for the mental rpm the cams need to run at.

Unsure that they are bigger in dia, as they run on std tb's

  8. Depends.
If you get it measured in Coventry then it is 138ish.
In the countryside between Bath and Bristol it’s about 132.

  10. Would anyone know the colour code for the Briel race bike ? Is I the same as the 749 Dark ?
