So what have you done today..?

  1. Yesterday i rediscovered but most importantly was reminded what motorcycling really meant/felt like thirty odd years ago when i first started learning the ropes.
The freedom/speed and sense of adventure was the drug of choice back then & still is fortunately with me this very day.
The above was brought back to my attention with a journey through the pretty winding Kent B routes to Dungeness nuclear power station passing some delightful properties with Kent peg tiled / wood cladding etc.
Stopped of at the quaint village Rye where as a child i was taken too & then on to camber,Autobahn chaser in guards red:thinkingface:for @bradders :upyeah: & a new moped for @Robarano ;)
Romney Marsh was all new to me but nice and flat, perfect for motorcycles with plenty of curves & a cool breeze whipping along which pumped me up 100%.
The Dungeness Estate had many old & comtemporary beach huts scattered all over the place with the most famous being Derek Jaman's.
So basically i've another rideout in my little blackbook for the future .On the way home apart from the sun in my eyes the PS performed impeccably well on that nuclear special brew:skull:

  2. Going out at 10am for a couple of hours with my neighbour Dave, from across the road. Yay! :upyeah:

But he’s slow as feck, so in a couple of hours we may just get out of the village. Booo!

  4. Had a good journey up to Silverstone. Got a bacon roll and a pint and now sat at Abbey waiting on Moto3 qualifying. Gorgeous day, bloody hot already but Silverstone being Silverstone, the covered stand is drafty but pleasantly cool. Looking forward to a great day and maybe 1 more beer :) Andy

  5. Topped up Elsie's oil tank with Castrol Power 1, then kicked her up and took her across the beautiful West Yorkshire moors looking (unsuccessfully) for a stray ice-cream van

  7. Today I have fitted new advance retard springs to the Triton, I think the old ones had stretched as it wasn't fully retarding at tick over. While I was at it I have cut the exhaust to allow a slightly more upswept silencer, just got to weld and refit now, after Moto gp qualifying.

  12. Wow.

I was about 20 when I got mine (a ‘barn find’). So that was about 30 years ago.

Sold it when buying a house - intending to get another, then prices shot up. :(

  13. Rode a motocross track for the first time in more years than I care to remember ... had a blast

  16. Another good day spannering in the garage...

    1. Cleaned the RSV4 after last night evening raid into south wales...i must have had a good time as when i went to give it a clean this morning the rear 200 section is almost off the edge...although i still need more suspension tuning...i reckon...
    2. Gave the Hyper a good clean, bash plate underneath usually collects a fair bit of mud/oil/dirt from the road so took that out too and gave a good clean.
    3. Serviced the slipper clutch on the hyper also.
    4. Stuck a wheel weight back on the front wheel of the zed....little stuff but satisfying none the less...
    5. Gave the supermoto a clean, not that it gets used that much (once a month to turn the engine over)

Finished with a quick test drive down to fowlers....my mates katana is down there on show....lovely bike...then up to Riders...Looks like theyre knocking out all their demo bikes with discounts. Theres a couple of Multi's a v4, scramber and supersport from recollection... 20190824_140910.jpg

  17. First thing me and my neighbour David (yes he’s called Dave) went out for a ride to Howarth, and had a coffee there. Then we had to come back for 1pm as he was going to see Huddersfield town play.

So this afternoon I set about reorganising the garage, as it was pretty much as it was when we moved here.

I managed to get all like items together and also found lots of my biking gear that I’d “mislaid” in the move. Also I managed to dump a load of stuff I’ve been carrying around probably for about 25 years.........so I’ve got a bit more room to manoeuvre in the garage now......hurrah! :upyeah:
