dont get personal Birdy, brexit aint that important. Whitehall dictates because we are 8% of the population, we therefore raise 8% of the tax revenue, then give us 8% of the cost of running the Whole of the UK and its costs abroad. the same method is used across the UK. tho, like all regions and countries in the UK most of our administration, procurement ect is done in the S/E. therefore the Taxs, Income, VAT, land ect are collected in the S/E are billed to regions but collected and put into the S/E figures. all that capitol transfer from PFI contracts from here to the financial institutions in london all get added to the figures of the S/E and then added to the english average.
i'm afraid to say, the strength of the south is massively overistmated and relies heavily on the good will (and ignorance) of its constituent parts.
