  2. Plus one on that:upyeah:

  3. Anyone here ever seen Ken Dodd live? I used to think he was shite based on his '70s TV stuff, but apparently he sometime does (or used to anyway) over 4 hours live non stop, joke after joke, no repeats.

Bob Monkhouse was also a massive curator of jokes. His joke book is legend.

    Tommy Cooper was a genius.

There are many more, spanning many decades, inter alia, Max Wall, Tommy Trinder, Norman Wisdom, Tony Hancock, The Pythons (mainly Palin), Billy Connolly, Joan Rivers, Ben Elton, Bill Hicks, Al Murray etc. etc. I love 'em all.

Anyone who can make people laugh on a regular basis is a genius in my book.

PS Ronnie Corbett has never been funny.

  5. I really really enjoyed watching bishop getting kicked up the arse.a truly great comedy moment along with del boy at the bar playing it cool.

  6. One of the funniest lines I've ever seen on TV was on Rita Rudner's programme - she has such a brilliant deadpan delivery. She used to do a little "question and answer" session at the end of each show, and someone in the audience said "I understand you used to be a dancer - why did you give it up?" Rita looked at her and said, in her sweetest most innocent voice, "I injured a groin muscle.............................. It wasn't mine..."

  17. I also think that making folk laugh is real genius, and there are loads that I've liked over the years.

One real favourite is Peter Kay, especially in Phoenix Nights.

I've seen Jethro a few times - laughed til my sides hurt.
