That could be about right, 17 bikes registered. That wont show bikes that have been shipped unregistered though. And will it include bikes shipped abroad ?
17 since they started making them at the start of the year? That means 2 per month. At that rate they won’t get all 200 done and start the RR until the end of 2026 (as they’ve stated that they won’t start the RRs until the SSs have been completed)
I can't see Norton lasting as it is, the guy must have an iron constitution to be able to survive the pressure he must be under from every direction. That or he has absolutely no sense of duty other than that of just making sure he milks his money from the brand. I think they will get bought out and go from strength to strength, it's just going to be another British brand failure before that happens. I would be HIGHLY surprised if John Bloor (owns Triumph) hasn't got his eyes very firmly on Norton as a potential addition to his portfolio.
Cannot understand how there keeping afloat with all the new ventures,( New models, new factory, recruitment & training.)Wheres the cash flow coming from to support all this as they hardly seem to be selling any bikes?
In that regard he seems switched on. The training 'academy' is run as a separate entity, and I think they said when I did the tour that it receives grant money as a consequence. I think the site and buildings are also separately owned by separate part, and leased to the bike building business. They have licenced bikes to be made elsewhere too, so that must bring some in, even if it's an initial sweetener. I do wonder if they are waiting on some of this off shore manufacturing of parts or sub assemblies to get going, in order to reduce costs and increase build numbers. Just my speculation, time will tell.
A friend of a guy I work with has an order for both a chrome and a carbon V4. He took delivery of the carbon one the other week and promptly dropped it off the ramp, while unloading it from a van..
True true. Maybe we could have a Forum whip round and sponsor him/bike? If he can live on Wotsits & beer the food bill should be cheap!
I will need at least one steak daily to keep my engine running... Other than that, it sounds great!!?
I do really like the chrome one... Never been a big fan of chrome but that Norton does look good ( in the pics at least)
Yes I was reading a post on the NOC site up until I read it I was contemplating a new one. Not anymore the amount of agro customers where getting before they even owned the bikes was staggering. repeatedly being let down on delivery dates, no replies to emails or fobbed off calls. then one guy got an email which was mistakenly sent to him by Norton which was sent to Norton from a Chinese bearing supplier chasing money, A Chinese bearing supplier???It does not inspire confidence.
