  3. I voted Talbot sunbeam ☀️
Actually drive a TR6, which is a lot like the superlight in that its huge fun at relatively slow speeds, and everyone lives you when you’re driving it

  4. I had a dark green Firenza in the early 80’s. no one really knew what they were then but they certainly kicked ass against some of the hot hatches

Had a mini pick up - they fetch huge money now - and a mini metro with go fast red seatbelts

  6. My Dad had both a Marina and an Allegro :joy:
Fond memories of one with velour seats ,and the other with the plastic that peeled your skin off on sunny days !
We covered many miles in both with no breakdowns as far as I remember .
Seem to recall they were very “bouncy” cars

  7. My dad had a Mini Clubman van from the 60s that he briefly used for his business. It lasted a couple of months and looked a little like this:

He then replaced it with a Mk3 Cortina 1300XL Estate, similar to this one:

The Cortina managed to burn out the rear axle on our way home from a holiday in the West Country.

I have to say, at the time I was less than impressed by old British clunkers.

  10. The first car my dad had after his motorbike and sidecar was an Austin A40.

  15. I bet one of those would be a few quid these days.

  16. Not as much as the vehicles from his job in the 60,s , that was with the Norton scrambler team , he also did a stint at Morris commercial so played a large part in the genealogy of the shiteboxes in question

  17. My old Dad escaped the Dagenham School of Bodged Design as a young man in the 1950s and emigrated to the US, where he helped design shiteboxes for Chevrolet. Lucky escape for him.
