Lol yes I have had that but it froze the machine This is because it has small coin boxes and they fill quickly with 1p and 2p hence you get this as change One customer bought a jar of these but it just kept chucking it back out and froze the transaction Just be aware that may send you crazy lol
Yup its the future alright....but where are all the poor check out girls gonna go, when 95% of tills are self service and 5% are manned ( or womanned :wink: ), as opposed to the opposite way as they are now.....Re-trained? I suspect not...unemployed? More likely. I'll do my bit to keep the checkout staff employed....even if it takes 5 mins more thanks.
They can stack the shelves there are plenty of things to do instore We only have 6 for the fore seeable future. Most are multi skilled and support checkouts at busy times
Yeah but, if the checkout girls stayed on the checkout's the queues would be smaller...so less waiting and the need to employ more staff to stack the shelves as a result. Win win for the people...surely?
Unfortunately for those employes on checkout - the self scans will reduce load on the checkouts - and may ultimately reduce the need for assistants. Realistically this is progression and change, we adapt to consumer demand and things change. In the not too distant future we will be able to pay with our phones without even having a checkout....
Good in theory but what about quiet times checkouts were manned most of the time but it's boring sitting waiting at times for customers. I see it that each of us has to be productive and to do that you have to be working hence we go into store to help them as they come and support checkouts We have to be queue vigilant
Good. But not as good as internet shopping. THAT is the future. (also, someone told me, they are generally good for buying NUTS magazine, condoms and other naughty bits.....apparently!)
I received a letter today from Barclaycard. The CC I have from them had contactless payment system on it for ages. Now they are extending it. They will be sending me a small sticker with RFID tag in it. Same one as in the card. I can put the sticker inside the battery compartment of the phone and use that the same way as I would my CC. Or I could attach it to the bike and use it as an excuse to park anywhere
We have to be queue vigilant - Ducbird so british. We Europeans just cut up the queue to each other all the time so it looks like no queue.
If it is about choice as you say and giving us the consumer the option.....why do the self service people always pester me to use them...when I've made my choice to stand in the Bloody self service attendants! :biggrin:
Agreed they should be forcing you to shout "I am not going to use self check-out please go ahead" as long as there is even one person behind you. I hate when there is like 5 people waiting for 1 manned till and not even one says I am not going to use self check-out so go ahead.
Lol because I like the challange and I offer to help because I would hate to see you queuing and I have targets to meet Funny isn't it because people say they want to talk to someone but they avoid me I like to talk too
It's the law out there to have the ID cards. Hay a ID card scan option that checks if you are over 18 (if you have one you are.
You know that other thread...you know when your getting old when You debate the checkout at the supermarket, should be in there :wink:
