British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. As above - you would have agreed, you're not that daft :p

  2. entrenched. that's cool.
hmm, I give it another 40years. you'll get there son.

  3. Thanks dad :bucktooth:

  4. my pleasure son.

  5. There are two other options left which whilst unconventional, are within his rights to do so.

He could on Monday, raise a vote of no confidence in his own government. If such a vote was won on Monday, it would see a fortnight for a new government to emerge, and if one did not as the tories would not do so, then parliament would be dissolved and an election would happen.

It would be a delish irony on the vote as the opposition parties can only abstain from the vote or vote they have confidence in Boris's government, to agree with the government would see an election :D

The other option, would be resigning and telling the Queen to send for Labour’s leader to replace him as a temporary prime minister. He might favour this because it might give him an election, without a parliamentary vote, before 31 October.

both of these fall into boris's hands as it is unlikely a temporary or coalition temporary government would be achieved given the lib dems, labour and snp would all be fighting for the same seats in the soon to follow general election

  7. "A once in a generation vote was held on the explicit condition that your result wouldn't happen" is one part I find confusing...

  8. We are playing by snp age defined rules :D

  9. why would you know what that means. you weren't there. you have no reason to know.
    .
its disingenuous to say Yes means In when actually the opposite is true.
    .
i wouldn't expect you to recognise that quote or how much effort was put in to reinforcing it. I do now expect noob to go in to the minutia of it tho. I don't intend to go back and forth with that all day, so I will just get in first. he will not be able to provide one piece of credible evidence that anyone with the actual power to block us.
I also don't expect you know the mechanisms that are available for us to use in Westminster because it was never in the interests of the British Partys to use them. that includes Labour, the party of home Rule. if you know yer history, probably the most corrupt party of all. a Tory will always Tory. you know where you are with them. but labour?

  10. You've got to know when to hold 'em
    Know when to fold 'em
    Know when to walk away
    And know when to run
    You never count your money
When you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin'
    When the dealin's done

  11. Bat again,wrongman.
I voted leave because I want other people to have the same opportunities I have had,and to enjoy the same freedoms.(No one is forced to take opportunity nor to enjoy freedom if they don't want to).
Leaving WILL cost me money and stress,(I've already had the usual government inspired fuck-ups over trailer registration and ECMT permits),but I really don't worry about it...overcoming hurdles and solving problems are part of being in business.
Sometimes things go easy and sometimes they don't.
I'm not giving my house away or anything-I know that we'll still be travelling into Europe and delivering/collecting our customers stuff,it will just be a bit more hassle.
And in a few months I'll be going on a shopping trip for customers Christmas gifts, just like I always do-Brexit just ain't that big a deal, despite what Liebour,Remoaners and the MSM are saying.

It might be difficult for you to understand, but some of us do things for altruistic reasons.
And we don't feel compelled to join the masons or the lions or run round Hyde Park to tell the world about it.

  13. Mr Angry from Morley tells BoJo the truth :)

Aye by gum they speak straight oop north.

IMO the accusation should be levelled Parliament not just BoJo. Unfortunately BoJo put himself out there.

First day of an election campaign? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-49601640

  14. Boris seems to be diging himself into a deeper hole every time he speaks, leave on October 31st do or die, then the opposition gets a law past to say he can't leave without a deal and has to ask for an extension, he says he would rather be dead in a ditch than ask for an extension, he's backed himself into a dead end, ether break the law or resign. Before he is allowed to break the law the opposition will most likely have a vote of no confidence and put someone else in charge long enough to implement the extension. The best Boris can do is befriend one of the other 27 leaders and ask them to oppose the extension and then we are out.

  15. The extension has to be agree by all 28 Members.

Is there a way for the UK to refuse to agree it? How would that work? The Queen refuses the Queen's Assent?

Somehow I doubt it. If there is a coup, and Parliament wrestles sovereignty from the people of the UK, the first thing they will do after appointing a revolutionary leader is to ask for the extension and the second, agree the extension with the rest of their EU colleagues. The Queen won't fight it, it's not her place to do so.

This is all assuming that BoJob is the PM he is portraying himself to be, a Brexiteer leader. Which I am not convinced of.

  16. i think you want a dictator tbh.
again, you dont know the mechanisems open to the opposition and particularily to the people of that other place you know little of. he will. as did all the other PM's before him.
had we up here voted leave also, you would of left already.

  19. That dup lie still going? cool. It was given to N.I., the glory for the dup was that they won it and could shout about it at election time. I suspect if you checked where that money was, it would not be in any dup bank account.

  20. Get out there and wave your flag, he will welcome your support!!!!:eyes:
