  1. only in a currency union. you should of taken it when you had the chance. with 38% of all the uk's resources, you could of continued to use them to stabilise the value of the pound. Salmond was yer friend. I cant guarantee a future Scot Gov will be so understanding.
hmm, funny you should mention the pound, its value and its future use.
    .
In the second in a series on UK economic trends, Alex interviews two leading commenters, from north and south of the Scotland-England border, on the political economy of Brexit and the extent to which the debate is being governed by underlying...

  12. Quick question, the brexit question was stay in or leave the eu. Parliament voted to make it law the uk could not leave the eu with no deal.

given we voted to leave or remain, how can the commons remove something from the vote that was never on the ballot paper?

  13. because Brexit supporting politician's, campaigners and the press allowed enough ambiguity to slip into the meaning of, leave, that allowed enough remainers to believe the result was at best, inconclusive. and no less corrupt than the organisation they where calling corrupt where EU corruption was one of he central planks of its campaign.
    .
sorry bud but vote leave and its partner organisations blew it. it wasn't a legally binding result. it achieved nothing bar provide enough ammo for enough people that where already suspicious of politicians and the press to become more resolute in stopping this farce. they didn't bring enough of the people with them. responsible politicians recognize this. responsible politicians know their fucked if they do, and fucked if they don't. they have chosen the lesser of two weavels. (to keep in keeping with the Russel Crow thread).

  14. You make a good point. The whole thing is a total farce now.

I blame Cameron for phrasing the referendum question so poorly.

It was reported on the radio that Dominic Cummings did not want the Leave campaign to define what Brexit would look like because he knew there would never be agreement on what that was.

We just need to leave without a deal and get on with it. First few weeks will be a bit bumpy here and there but it will settle down. Inflation will go up a bit as new costs are brought into play but then it will come down again. We will be a bit poorer for a while but hopefully not for too long.

Besides I am getting bored correcting you on a daily basis on topics which are outwith out control. We should spend more time talking about motorbikes
