The comfort seat is only thicker for the rider, the pillion does not get any benefit, otherwise the seat cowl would not fit.
I’ve thought about a quick shifter for my 1200R but after borrowing a 1200S with one fitted, I’ve decided against it, couldn’t see the point on the road, work ok when going up the box when “going for it” but felt very clunky otherwise
Personally,I wonder how good these are for gearbox longevity ?Its for this reason i am more than happy to carry on using the clutch and look after the gearbox .
Why do you say that? What is the issue with it? I had an HM Quickshifter plus on my Superduke and it was excellent.
At normal (legal) speeds the quick shifter is just too slow to operate so causes the bike to lurch with every change, I can shift quicker and smoother manually. When in a bit of a hurry mode (very illegal) and using a lot more revs it is better but I don't ride there very often so run my bike in touring mode with the quick shifter disabled. In sport mode the shifter is active. I have brought it up with my dealer who tells me that he agrees it's too slow but there is no adjustment for it in the ecu. The same shifter is fitted to one of the sports jobs (all look the same to me) and it works fine as the shifter is quicker. I have tried the new 1260 multi and the quick shifter on that is much better.
Fair comments. I mainly used the Quickshifter when getting a move on. It did work ok at lower revs (shift interval is adjustable on the HM) and my Mrs preferred it when shifting as it was smoother than manual shifts. I loved the soundtrack when doing full throttle shifts though I must say. The first QS I had was on my Panigale and I have fitted one to every bike I’ve had after that.
I have the comfort seat and an Annitori QS. Satisfied with both. No issues. I'm sure you will enjoy your new Monster. Congrats and Welcome back.
i am interested i hearing how you get on with it ,i am thinking about fitting one on my 1200r i have quick shift and auto blip on my s1000xr and its really good but thats a inline four
Be interested to hear whether the 'comfort seat' is better for the pillion. My Mrs loves the Monster - but goes off the her part of the saddle after 3 or 4 hours
Got a HM plus on my z1000 - been on there for almost 4 years now without hitch...would definately buy again...
I think Exige was hinting why would you buy another, if you already have one. You don't need 2 (his words, give or take).
