  1. Hi,
I was lucky enough to acquire my beautiful 748r from Sean off the forum in the summer. I am planning a light resto (it does not need much, just a lick and a promise as my Mum would say).

One thing that has been going over in my mind is the Italian flag decals on by the screen. They are vinyl and I simply cant make up my mind to remove them or not. I am now 90% sure what I want to do, but would value the thoughts of the forum.

Please cast your vote and I will then let you know the end outcome (I might disagree with you!!).

    Thanks.

  2. Remove flag decals only, number board suits the overall shape of the bike.
Can't help you out with the colour but it's still an "R" so not to worry :p IMG_20190414_112921.jpg

  4. If you like them then leave in place until you come to liquidate, perhaps return to original spec at that time in question.

  5. take um off you can soon get some more if you change you mind mate.

  6. I’d remove the flag bit but keep the white number board.

  7. As long as they haven’t been on ages so the paint’s not faded on the outside bit...

  8. I'd probably start with a good wash first o_O then take the complete decal off !!

  9. What are a few flies between friends. Here she is just before the last ride - but point taken!

  10. You can predict the future from the pattern of the dead flies on the fairing , admittedly this always turns out to involve a sponge and a bucket of soapy water but who am i to criticize those with clairvoyant abilities.

  11. Take em off. That’s like going to a titty bar and holding a towel over what you really went to see

Got the stickers off easy. There was a silver pinstripe between the flags and red of the fairing. That came off easy too.
    But....
There is a line. It won’t polish out. You can feel it with your finger nail. I think it might be a paint protection film but I can’t peel it, even after 5 mins of hot hairdryer on one spot.
    Any ideas?

  17. Could it have been lacquered up to the pinstripe line?
    Steve

  18. That is my suspicion. Just going to pop down to the local RR & Lotus specialist body shop to see what they think. I need the carbon lacquered over the winter so be interesting to hear their professional view.
    Will report back.

  19. A bodyshop should be able to sort that out quickly and reasonably - its almost winter and you can get it done without missing sunshine days soon. A new set of flag stickers are definitely cheaper and Image works will be able to make them in a heartbeat.
