There's only one "math" and that is *mathematics*. I am delighted and proud to have assisted y'all here.
Nope, the apostrophe in this case indicates letters are missing ie it’s an abbreviation. I don’t know why I’m explaining English to an American, it’s a lost cause
No, you were indicating ownership. I know this for a fact. You *could* have been indicating missing letters - and I could get behind that - but in this case, you were not. Folk who mistakenly write "maths" instead of "math" (or, weirdly but not incorrectly, "math's") are prone to this kind of confusion but thankfully, they are the minority in the English-speaking world.
Oh no I wasn’t (missing letters), I was writing the full abbreviation of mathematics which is math’s but in keeping with the word itself, in common parlance, native English speakers reduce it to its lowest denominator and remove the ‘ hence maths. Simples. I rest my case ps. I’ve (missing letters) also proven that the possessive doesn’t always employ the ‘ witness its above not it’s I’m bored.
Don't try to kid a kidder. I know what was in your mind - I put it there myself. And it's "simple's", br'w.
Correct, Possessive pronouns are never spelled with apostrophes, so its, his, hers, ours, theirs do not get apostrophes.
Does anyone remember the discussions we had around the Irish border and some of us said, the eu value the single market border more than the good friday agreement and will insist the Republic has a hard border above all else in the case of no deal some in here said that is wrong, the eu will not be doing it, they value the peace agreement. I wonder if any of them saw ridge on sunday where she interviews Junker? https://news.sky.com/video/juncker-no-deal-would-mean-hard-irish-border-11816624
