Currently at a family engagement do at some social club in God knows where. At least another hour away from being able to insist on leaving. Eardrums destroyed by DJ insisting on largely ignoring the majority 40-50+ demographic & playing loud shite pop music & to top it off I’m driving so can’t bastard drink. Helllllllllllp!
Yesterday morning I went to Matlock with some friends and went to the Ducati road show. Had a good chat with Steve @Birdie and @Mr Bimble Left my chums to come home as we had some friends coming over for the weekend. First couple arrived about 15 mins after I got home, so we went for a drink in a local bar/restaurant. Second set of friends arrived at 5pm.........and that’s when the serious drinking started. SWMBO made a fantastic meal (she’d been preparing it for days), I tidied up, which is always my contribution. Then more drinks ensured the guitars and amps were brought out. Much shit playing and singing followed till about midnight.........when people buckled asking for tea and coffee. Bed called around 1.30am. I’ve now been up since 6.30 doing more tidying and putting stuff away, whilst everyone is still asleep. (Though I think someone is stirring upstairs as I type). And this morning we will be going for a short walk to a place called The Cider Press for breakfast. This afternoon will consist of snoozing on the sofa
Sat around all morning discussing which travel trailer we should upgrade to. Then finally got moving. Organized the area where my new stainless table with my new meat grinder sits. Then moved on to maintenance on our side by side. It had been running a little rough this past year. Greased zerk fittings, checked the oil, air filter and lastly, changed the spark plug. Took it out for a ride and lo and behold the thing is running a lot smoother. Took the Ducati out for a spin, came back, hopped on the Husky and went for another spin. Husband made beer can chicken and corn on the grill for dinner. He used a chocolate stout for the chicken. It didn't taste unusual, just plain awesome!
Great insight into Faithville there & “beer can chicken with corn on the grill” might be the most American post we’ve ever had in here. Sounds great
I did some work today shock horror with a concrete breaker removing all the old kerbs ready for a dropdown version tomorrow, need a bloody beer now or two.
