I am sure that you do not mean this. Despite her being the biggest setback this country has suffered since the war I hope she rests in peace. I do not however agree with the disgraceful decision to afford her a military style funeral at taxpayers expense. All her beloved private sector entrepreneurs should foot the bill since she sold all our public enterprises to them under her policies of greed.
"With great power comes great resposiblity" got to take it on the chin, like the over one thousand service personel who died / injured in the falkland conflict that she sanctioned
Yes. It's a fine excuse for crassness and cruelty which in any other situation would be unacceptable.
Cruel comments ? She destroyed the coal industry completely. I was part of it, albeit in the scientific sector. It was a community throughout and never will be again. Most people on here will never experience this during their lives. She should have died in Brighton - Bitch. And . . . I don't give a f*** about comments on my death.
I'm amazed at what seem on forum, and in person on occasion, sensible relatively reasonable peolpe can act with so little respet for a humam life. One which dedicated their life to their county at whatever cost. Regardless what many will think, I dont agree with a lot of what was done and certainly never voted for her, nor do I class myself thru and thru tory. But everyone should recognise the effort and dedication that went into what she did. And admire the single bloodymindeness she approached her leadership. If you dont feel respect for life s due, fuck off and get your own thread.
On the news tonight. Cardiff - taken from an industrial area to a service area with large boats. Whoopie doo. Might be for the rich who now have 5% less tax to pay,if they earn over £150,000.
paul, think your atitude mirrors MTs uncompromisings and draconian and MTs if you dont like it FO, well a lot of people didnt like her leadership and are voicing there opinions to your thread, and your opinion is to FO, nice one
The most hated "leader" of the country up here since longshanks. Will not be missed. Good wartime pm fuck all else
Paul (Bradders) has a point. This thread should have been allowed to be a celebration of Thatcher's life, for those who felt it worth celebrating. I should have started a separate thread for my own heartfelt and sincere feelings. Sorry, Paul.
That is a little harsh considering the result by terrorists: 5 people were killed and 31 were injured.
It can hardly be disputed (even by her supporters) that Margaret Thatcher was by far the most hated, despised, loathed politician in the UK in centuries. Many millions of people are heartily glad she is now dead, and would have been gladder if she had died a lot sooner. There are no doubt other millions who take the opposite view. IMHO today is a good time for all shades of opinion to say their piece and let off steam. Good thread!
What an amazing woman she must have been, to garner such feelings so late after her retirement. For myself, I was much better off when Maggie was around. That's all I know.
