Amazing that this isn't talked about more. I'm astounded nobody in the press has tried to get a strand of hair for DNA testing, given their propensity for scandal. Surely a hotel maid can be bought off quite cheaply? I know "The Palace" have said this has already been done, but c'mon. The fact William always appears dignified and Harry is becoming more of a twat as time goes on, doesn't help.
If you think Have I Got News For You is even vaguely left wing, you must have been watching a different programme entirely. It has always been entirely equal opportunity satire - satirising everybody.
Satire has become increasingly difficult in recent years. The buffoonish antics of Trump, Johnson, Farage, etc are so extreme in reality that it is really hard to make up gags about them. Just quoting their speeches/tweets verbatim already sounds like satire, so there's nowhere to go. Spitting Image will face this problem. One can only wish them good luck.
I haven't watched it for years. The sneering left wing bias displayed does not make for plesant viewing, so I choose not to. It's very simple. And now I see why you like the show. Do you actually read what you type? You should, you'd look a lot less foolish.
Peter (and one or two others on here) is a walking advertisement for why educated is not equivalent to intelligent and why knowledge is not wisdom. If he were brighter, he'd see the truth of this. Alas, hubris is a great blocker of self-awareness. Nah, mate. Become a physician and then heal yourself. I'll wait.
I really loved the original series, but it was a much more non-pc time back then. Hopefully I will be proven wrong but I fear the new series will not be a patch on the old one due to fear of having to be pc. Despite the world being full of so many public figures that are ideal candidates.
I wish I hadn't dipped into this thread now. Still, Brexit looks like being a great success, doesn't it? And that President Trump, whadda guy, eh? Actually I don't expect this reincarnation of Spitting Image to be a success particularly.
