  2. The bike in silver/ chrome looked much better in the well lit photos than it does on the vid imo.

  4. Blimey, did they make the pipes from tin foil?

  5. Ignition timing is too retarded. Just retime the ign and it will be fine.

  6. I see that The Bike Specialist have another V4SS in carbon for sale at £53k so someone else who got an early delivery fancies a quick profit

  7. Just had a rare E-mail from Norton saying the rr would soon be going into production and that there were some ss models available due to cancelled orders. Was thinking, if you were told your build slot was just round the corner would you want to take delivery of such a bike at this time of year now knowing it would most likely be sitting idle in the garage for the next 4 or 5 months?

  8. I do like their use of very loose terms such as "soon" and "in the coming weeks". Total lack of specifics that actually tell people very little. Their definition of "soon" and the definition likely to be used by people who have been waiting nearly three years for a bike are likely to be rather different.
If they can't give more accurate timelines it makes you wonder if they are operating on a wing and a prayer rather than to a specific schedule of any sort!

  9. At this stage the facts speak for themselves. Norton is a tinpot outfit and they're neither dependable as a company or reliable as a product.

  10. Very valid points, but i do now actually think that the "RR" will be going into production over the winter months. I'm now wondering how many of the people who initially put deposits down on an "RR" are going to get cold feet?

  11. Depends how cold winter gets :)

  12. Perhaps the kind helpful people at Norton will add footpeg warmers to their bikes?

  13. Possibly, but they've got to finish the SS yet and at the rate they are making them I wouldn't hold your breath for anything pre-Christmas. And that is assuming that you are very early in the list.

  14. I really and mean no disrespect I fancied a norton to but when I started reading all the probs, I came to the conclusion you would need certifying to part with your hard earned on one of those ponies.

  15. On their own homepage, they've had no news in their news section since March. They are still doing factory tours on a Friday for those getting nowhere on the phone and email. You could should you wish, get a group of Norton potential owners who have paid a deposit and go and ask them face to face using the tour slot?
