My wife says we need to have a chat about my childish behaviour. Like that’s going to happen during conker season.
The Multistrada battery didn't have enough juice in it to fire the bike up after the ferry docked at Santander on Monday and each morning this week it has struggled on first start in the morning despite the daily mileage so decided to get another one. YT12B-BS, AGM, sourced locally with the help of the hotel owner for the princely sum of €59. Fitted and all looks good. Andy
They normally refer to posted pics. Yours didn’t. ps. I would have merged it with the joke thread but I couldn’t find it quickly with my iPad
Got out of bed this morning at 6 for the Australia / Uruguay rugby match gave it twenty minutes or so & then went back to bed.
just returned home from the Pen-y-cae Inn after treating the family to lunch on my wife's 64th birthday. bloody lovely.
Brother in law's sister has got cottage there, think it's the one opposite red car at bottom middle of picture, used it as overnight stop off on way to Ireland about six years ago. Seriously steep hills there and decent curry house up in the town.
Today I have been mostly faffing about. I would have gone out on the bike but I didn’t sleep well last night and I like to be 100% when I ride. First thing I polished 3 pairs of biking boots, cleaned my one piece leathers, cleaned my summer textile jacket and waterproofed my winter textiles. Then it was a dash to Derby to visit SWMBO’S mum in hospital as she’s not very well (she’s 91yo and has been diagnosed with COPD which on top of her progressive dementia, isn’t good). Got home early afternoon, had a bite of lunch then went for an hours walk around the village. Since then I’ve just lazed in the garden room either surfing t’internetz or reading my Bike magazine. SWMBO is watching the athletics now whilst I’m doing nothing again
A lad at work was taking his daughter conker picking today. We got reminiscing about our chidhood when you used to harden them with nail varnish and protected you prized "76-er" with your life. Anyway, we had hatched a plan to bring the conkers to work and paint hem with a couple of coats of 2K clearcoat and stoving them off to give the kid the best chance in her school conker fights. He then realisingly said, rather dissapointingly, that she just likes "the pretty ones" and paints them but doesn't play conkers. I was gutted. I had great plans for my young protégé.
