Never heard of a Z900 A5 - built in the US evidently in 1977 when the Z1000 A1 was out here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1977-R-K...477974?hash=item1cda3c6f16:g:fWwAAOSw8OtdkrNg
Mine was turbo charged and 1197cc by the time I was 19, with standard wheels and brakes - had it from 17 still got it
Blimey, I went to buy a 2nd hand turbo kit for the Z1R I had when I was 20. I could see it was going to be a complete lash up, so I bought a CBX instead.
My first turbo kit at 18 with the standard engine was made in the York Glass Works Mould Repair Shop and was a lash up - slide carb stuck open under boost but it was enough to make me want more, so all my wages went on a Mr Turbo kit and MTC Pistons (and beer) as I was living at Mam and Dad's
I thought I was invincible, indestructible and could teach Barry Sheene a thing or two back then. Wasn't until I bought a GPZ900 that I realised stopping and going around corners was more fun than laying on the tank with my Doc Martins on the rear footrests . My old man had kicked me out, and I was living rent free at my Grandads too.
True, I went for a Rickman Z1b while the turbo was being built - cost me £1200 and lots of 16 hour shifts! It was immense and worth the hours. Another guy at work went for a Moto Martin Kit for his CB900...
Back on track i think this one has been relisted https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ducati-916-Track-Bike/362774771375?hash=item54770fb6af:g:-QAAAOSwa1ddbCFq
This is like bingo night, I can almost smell the stale piss lol. I think I'd just turned 18 when I went to one of those Kawasaki road show things, at Freddie Mayes Kawasaki in Cambridge. They let me take out a tuned up Dunstall Z1R, I revved the tits off it away from the shop, and then every gear on the dual carriageway, flat out in top I slide right back on the seat, and couldn't shut the throttle. When I eventually got back my bird said everyone went very quiet when I left, and reckoned I didn't have long to live...
I could be tempted to go have a looksee as it’s just up the road from me. It does look like a pile of though
Re-listed to time waster is your answer that's what the advert says..........or a very smart person walked away
