So what have you done today..?

  1. Very good day.
This morning wallpapering at in laws. Got it all done. Just the woodwork to do now and I’m finished.
15 degrees at lunch so out on the Street Triple to continue breaking in. A further c90 miles, the very long way to Ducati in Abingdon where I picked up a couple of parts for the 748r refresh I am undertaking.
then an hour cursing in the garage trying to get one bolt from the 11 I had to remove out. Job jobbed now. I will update my refresh thread tomorrow.

  3. Needed to replace a rear brake, brake light switch on the Diavel for the MoT. Having started about 4 o’clock this afternoon, I’m wishing I’d never started. The cable connector is located in a tiny space buried behind the engine case, under the rear of the petrol tank and above the swing arm so all the body work has to come off along with the petrol tank, the exhaust end can and the footrest hanger. What I’d hoped would take half an hour, tops, has taken about 4 hours so far, just to fit the new switch and cable. Got the tank and all the body work to refit. Not even started to try and find out what is draining the Multistrada’s battery. Hey, ho, another day tomorrow. Andy

  5. Today I finally found out how to post a link on here. It’s been a mystery to me all this time. I’ve tapped this, tapped that, copied the wrong shit and always got frustrated. Thanks to a simple bit of instruction from El T I can now do it. :) How did I not know this. Simple things hey!

This is what I did the day before yesterday.

  7. ‘Wow, just fucking wow’
Was over heard by a group of already pissed Americans as we entered Punk Royale restaurant in Stockholm last night.
With graffiti on the walls a smoke machine in the corner and banging drum and bass as the back drop, this is no place for the faint hearted.
20 courses with a wine flight, you don’t get to choose, that’s how it is.
At one point everyone is invited in to the kitchen, I’ve no idea why, meet the cooks perhaps, anyway it instantly created a party vibe with people chatting and drinks being topped up.
The service, like the restaurant, is in your face, literally in your face, as one of the courses is served straight from a spoon into your already open gaping mouth!
Another, which was caviar based, served on to your open hand!
I haven’t dared look at the cost in the cold sober of light, a small fortune I’d imagine going off the cost of alcohol lone, but
if you’re up for a splurge and feeling particularly brave head here, it’s quite the experience!
    Going back to bed!

  8. Just got off the phone to my credit card provider. Some low life in Bromley has been buying stuff on my card. Total luck that I chose that moment to check my account on line to make sure I had funds to pay the direct debit and saw a phone transaction listed at 6am this morning. Only thing I was doing at 6am was snoring. Who ever it is hopefully won’t get their shit because the payment has been stopped before clearance was given to the retailer. On the up side, the bank manager will be relatively happy as I now won’t have a credit card for the next 10 to 14 days. Andy

  11. Anyone watch hairy bikers last night. I like them, riding harleys on what's left of route 66. I've been to some the places they visited, made me ask wifey to look at going back

  12. This morning at the crack of sparrow shit I went to Leicestershire to collect my Gretsch guitar that has been restored/refurbished by a guy recommended to me by @Jonnybiscuit .

This guy (also called John) really knows his stuff and has done a fantastic job!

When I took it down to him he did some research on it and managed to place the date it was manufactured to around 1945-47. I inherited it from my brother in law when he dies 14 years ago, and he had bought it in the early 1980's we think.

Anyway John has sympathetically refurbished it and not only cleaned it (which made a huge difference in the appearance after it had been left for 70 odd years) but fitted new 5 new frets, altered the bridge, nut, saddle, got the electrics sorted, put new strings on it and set it up. It now looks, plays and sounds fabulous!

I am very pleased with the results! Thank you for the recommendation @Jonnybiscuit :)
