10 riders refusing to ride as the circuit is dirty and has little grip. WTF?! They should try Cadwell in April.... FIM have announced it as safe. It must be bad, as Haslam is one of this series who was refusing to ride and he never shys from conditions issues
So, both Chas Davis and Laverty called out Rae as saying he wouldn’t ride, getting pressured by his team and riding. The undertone was Rae, as leading rider and safety fella, let them all down.
Tough one, so the riders had a meeting and most agreed it was unfair to race. After the meeting some of those riders went on to then say it was fine. I guess you can understand frustrations
Rae said in response he never said he didn’t want to race. Essentially , called the other riders liars
It’s a shame for the fans really some of who may have traveled a long way to see the racing. The whole event should have been scrubbed from the calendar if they new in advance how bad it was but then as with anything in life money talks and bullshit walks and sponsors want their brand out there regardless of safety
This was discussed months again and they knew it wouldn’t be ready. Most disappointing thing is Lavilla seems to have become a corporate sandwich board and forgotten what it’s like to be a rider
If the TOP riders are prepared for racing on that new tarmacadam then the rest of the field should follow suit with no arguments.IMO ...and yes i did watch it and it was fine.
Simon Buckmaster interview was good. Simply put, they should have started and pulled on if it was that bad.
I’ve ridden on new tarmac that’s seeping. In fact I’ve driven cars at pace on it as well. It should never have been a situation there was a few nasty shunts over the weekend being attributed to the surface
It happens at mx races a lot where a group say no riding then cave because a few want to go ahead. Agree totally with that statement that they should start then pull off if you don’t like it. At least you tried and it goes down as a dnf not a dns.
Dangerous and fast enough sport without skidding around on a shit surface however. If the officials say its OK and the rider wants to ride, I've certainly no issue with that.
It usually when the car park becomes impassable or the spectator area to be fair. Like hawkstone park. I’ve been at many a meeting when people have refused to race, ironically though it was the front runners that pull out. Not wanting stupid injuries from mud plugging. Especially in the mxgb meetings and amca races I’ve been in. Personally I love it and the wetter the better! Apart from cusses gorse and hawkstone hill as they become unrideable . Foxhills turns in to an ice skating ring first drop of rain
