Churchill wrote the first four sentences of the quote for America’s Saturday Evening Postpublished on 15 February 1930: “We have our own dream and our own task. We are with Europe, but not of it. We are linked but not combined. We are interested and associated but not absorbed.” his United States is Europe speech which I provided the link for is post war, so clearly he changed his mind
I did - it has been said before by his fellow MP's of the time that he didn't mean the UK to be involved - your people will stop at nothing with their lies and deceit
Bollocks he didn't - stop reading between the lines - and if he was alive now he'd not be backing you for sure
It's amazing how so many people want to quote comments made by Churchill as some kind of weird proof that he'd want to be governed by Brussels. Probably the same people that call him a racist when it suits. The same people also seem to forget all of the politicians that said "We will carry out what you decide" & "There will be no 2nd vote" only 3 years ago. They are very good at rememberering what was printed on busses though. A very strange lot, they iz.
well the politicians I rate have never said they will respect the vote. The difference between my view of Churchill and most of the uber patriots is that my view is balanced. I recognise his strengths and achievements and I recognise his failings. Or to put it another way, I don’t shy away from the facts.
there is no hope for people who lie to themselves or for the people they take down with them. No wonder NI wants a border poll and Scottish Indy will happen
This statement just shows your true light, you respect those who do not respect democracy - well crack on with that doomboy
