churchills achievements are well documented. But when the Union Jack duvet brigade ignite his failings then its only right to bring some balance.
In this context my definition of democracy is framed in the context of the 2014 referendum claim by better together that to vote no would be to ensure Scotland stayed in the EU. more than happy to go along with the U.K. wide vote to leave but don’t expect Scotland it NI to stay
If you want to deny the content of the SNPs manifesto in 2016 and it’s subsequent endorsement by the electorate by giving the SNP and the greens their highest vote ever then it is you that is blind to democracy
That was his personal opinion, not that of YES Scotland. he is yesterday’s man 2016 = fresh mandate. Correct me if I am wrong but I thought you believed in democracy and want to leave the eu because it’s not democratic?
So Churchill isn't yesterday's man? You're a very strange person with an uncanny ability to twist anything to your view of the world.
So. Let let me get this right. circa 2014 Salmond and Sturgeon saying that an independence vote should be "Once in a generation" = Irrelevant 2014 Independence referendum = Irrelevant 2016 (Do you mean 2017?) SNP manifesto = Gospel 2016 Brexit referendum = Irrelevant 2017 Conservative manifesto to leave the EU = Irrelevant 2017 Labour manifesto to leave the EU = Irrelevant Thanks for clearing that up.
She knows there is nowhere near a big enough demand as well as a consistent enough one, from the Scottish people for another indi vote. If she takes a gamble based on current polls, she is likely to lose and therefore would be expected to resign and the indi question goes away for a genuine generation this time. Given polls can seem to justify any position then, you have to look at actuals, that being votes. In a nation of 5.5 million people, in the last general election in 2017, the snp whilst still the biggest party, received just 977,569 votes which was a drop of 476,867 on the 2015 general election and has been pointed out many times, More Scots voted to leave the eu in 2016 than voted for the snp in the 2017 election. So as much as she bulls, blusters and threatens to blow the house down, her own position is very much not guaranteed and is rather a knife edge but she does a better job than most of hiding it.
. circa 2014 Salmond and Sturgeon saying that an independence vote should be "Once in a generation" = irrelavent now because the circumstances around Brexit changed 2014 Independence referendum = valid dependent upon the vow and Scotland’s place in the EU. Both renegaded on so it’s open season 2016 (Do you mean 2017?) SNP manifesto = YES and it was voted for heavily so it has a democratic mandate 2016 Brexit referendum = relevant, uk should leave with no deal 2017 Conservative manifesto to leave the EU = no interest to me as it relates to scotland since it was built on lies 2017 Labour manifesto to leave the EU = as Tory manifesto I appreciate that your view of Tory and labour manifestos is different within the context of England and Brexit There is nothing in the above which is anti democratic
The mighty Finm and that cranky woman Keep up! You said it’s only because of leaving the EU that circumstance changed to Scottish position on indi - keep your arguments sane at least
