I deny this. If Lefties can create their own "reality", I reserve the right to also do that. So that'll be an galactic-scale neener, right there.
We are an inclusionary group, not an exclusionary one, Chris. Besides, i am waiting for a smack-down from Denzilina ... or maybe some news from Denzil. Or vice versa.
And that’s the problem. Due to a change in the law in 2013 which limited recoverable costs in road traffic PI claims, many PI solicitors have had to shed staff but also increase volume which has led to a drop in the quality of their work. As such many “solicitors” working in PI firms aren’t actually qualified solicitors and may not even have any legal qualifications at all. They’ll instead be described as a “caseworker” or “paralegal” or “lawyer” or some similar official sounding but unregulated title, acting under the supervision (often more or less non existent) of a qualified solicitor. @Denzil the Ducati - before instructing anyone or letting them submit a “CNF1” form on your behalf, give me a shout and I’ll recommend a few firms, as I have seen many cases go down the toilet due to mistakes made by the sol at a very early stage in the proceedings.
A smack down? Not in my nature... Think Denzil was a bit wiped yesterday after a bad night's sleep and probably used up a lot of energy on his visit from the police. I'm on my way to see him, anyway, with some jaffa cakes (lemon and lime flavour)
Mmmmm I tasted those the other day I like I didn’t buy them Chris who I work with likes cake and chocolate so we get to taste quite often
M&S do all sorts, including a new clementine and cranberry variety for Christmas! I'm on my way home from Denzil Towers - he is much improved from when I saw him last and has probably worn his brace for the longest period of time yet today. He is starting to sort things like SORNing the 748 but I couldn't quite coax him into looking at photos of it (although he's talking about how he might have to do XYZ and who he'd buy a particular part from... And how thorough he intends his repair thread on here to be! ). I've written down the list of damage from what I've been told of it and left him with the photos filed away on a memory stick. Think he might flake out soon anyway as I was cooking and disrupted the meds schedule by chopping onions too long (woops) but I think he might have a look tomorrow. It's hard to know what's for the best but I'm hoping that seeing it himself will be more constructive than not. Anyway, he is back to enjoying desserts
The world's gonna PC crazy! Lemon & Lime, whatever happened to good old orange? On a serious note I'm glad to read Denzil's getting better each day
Classic orange is going nowhere, the world of jaffas is just a more colourful and diverse place now . Raspberry is pretty good... Better each day indeed, and today was a particularly steep rise in "better" as yesterday was a bit crappy (nil sleep, pain etc), although enlivened (I am told) by one of the cats stealing the visiting policeman's glass of water and then knocking it over on purpose when he was told off .
Hi, sorry to hear about the accident. I was involved in a car vs bus in 2012. Comminuted (shattered) fracture 1st lumbar vertebrae. I was braced for 3 months, had physio for 6. I rode my bike gingerly around the block while still in my brace I was that's keen to see if could still ride. Every injury is different and rehab times differ but in my case I put a lot of effort into physio twice a week. I was out touring in summer the next year. The things I found hardest were things like washing up with lots of little twisting movements and sitting upright for long periods. Basically I was best on the sofa or on the bike.... pretty standard really!
I do my best, although it is Mrs Denzil handling the brunt of everything at home! I am back at work now and although I'm not far far away I am not close enough to be able to pop back during the week for any meaningful length of time. He had another wiped out kind of day today after a very good one yesterday,(I hope it wasn't my cooking...) in case you are wondering why he's gone quiet. The cat has at least caused no further distress to any members of the emergency services.
Folks, had a good night and a bad day today but am feeling a little more able to read and write just now. Having trouble standing today as the soft tissue injuries are now randomly and variously hurting including all my arm joints, tendons, wrists and hands, left hip and buttock, both knees and both ankles. The left hip and lower back took the brunt of the contact with the car bonnet and I have been waiting for that to start hurting. I'm 57 and pretty sure that is a factor in how slow some of the reactions are. From the Police investigator the bike was hit directly from behind when at rest (as I remember it) and shunted 5m forwards without hitting a kerb or any hard structure, the front cross member of the car ended up resting on the rear wheel and the centre of the car's bonnet was wedged into the space under the rear subframe. From the point the vehicles stopped moving I was catapulted another 15m into an area of surfacing not used as part of the carriageway and facing 90 degrees from the direction I was ejected. The bike remained wedged perfectly upright in the forward part of the engine compartment of the car (I understand it was some form of Audi). Denzilina has provided the following photos taken by her friends who recovered the bike for private storage. They show what looks to be a remarkably light amount of damage for the violence of the impact. However the photos do not reveal whether the frame, swinging arm or anything structural other than the subframe has been damaged. Looks like my rare Ti JHP cans are wrecked. I have also included a few shots of my helmet for the record. If the bike was badly smashed I would not bother, but everything forward of the seat (bar the screen) appears to be untouched/reusable and the lack of visible damage in those areas is notable. The samshed screen was most likely my boot and I remember the noise it made as I went through it. The police were unable to locate the number plate and the tail tidy/number plate bracket was destroyed. The bike is 150miles short of clocking 42k miles, I have every intention of getting it back on the road.
