  4. Been working on a new stable block at a nice mansion set on 700 acres in amersham. It's a nice spot about 35mins from my place , unfortunately it's rained 6 outta the 7 days I e been there..
My job is to frame out and clad the exterior In Some hidious looking larch .
After that I have to fit an oak roof structure..it's pretty much kitset but there is alot to do and it's a lil expensive . Also the trusses weigh 1500kg a piece so I'm a lil nervous... Not done this stuff before!!! IMG_20191016_081600.jpg IMG_20191016_081606.jpg

  6. Is this the same chiz who took on europe? talked to and drunk with a loopy french couple who could have smothered him in his sleep after drinking copiuos french falling down water, who toured knowing their was holes in his panniers but duc tape was his fix?

Who ran a huge risk of being roofied by some husky hairy rascal seeking to swim in your chocolate starfish and yet you worry about a truss? pah i say, pah !! chiz laughs at the trusses and says, dam you, dam you all, I am chiz and will conquer you all

  8. Been a good samaritan today :) On my way down to collect the V4 after its service, I noticed a couple of bikes on the northbound hard shoulder of the M3 between junctions 7 and 6. On my way back, they were still there with Highways England in attendance so I stopped. 2 German chaps on their way home after 10 days touring the south of England coast line and a 17 month old GS1200 just expired. HE were trying to get BMW rescue sorted out but were just being pushed from pillar to post with the UK centre telling them to phone Germany and Germany not responding to any of the call centre numbers HE had been given. Upshot, I loaded the guy's GS on my trailer and dropped him off at Bahnstormers in Farringdon. Still had a bit of hassle trying to get someone to do something but I think it was all sorted after finally speaking to someone in Germany. Think I'll have a beer tonight as a reward :D Andy

  9. ACT only Logo.jpg

Don't forget to mention they might want an Air Sourced Heat pump to heat and cool that lovely building..... very Eco friendly and cost effective.

  10. unfortunately they had the ac/heating done in the main house last year.. i did ask my boss if they needed someone but they had already appointed a contractor.. shame as from what i hear it was a cash cow..
our new at the time plumber nearly got sacked as he went behind the bosses back trying to secure the job for his mate.. seems alot of people wanted a piece of that pie...
the money being spent on this place is mind blowing.

  13. more the life of a chippy who's boss is to tight to pay the suppliers fitters to come and do the job!!!
ive been roped in as im the only chippy on the firm that can cut a roof. (and they assume this is the same sorta thing)
i would feel alot better about it if i had some experience rather than being thrown in the deep end but this company are forever getting me to do stuff outside my comfort zone..
my bosses are always trying to convince me that i like a challenge.. i dont!!!!
that said, id rather i was doing/overseeing this stuff than any of our other foremen, they are down right dangerous

  14. that is actually what i read at first glance!
