Had same service at Ducati Worcester last week. It was £282 and change. However, this did include about £30 of parts (rear reflector, bracket, bolts some pannier and gear change rubbers) that I ordered as well as the £10 insurance charge for the use of a V4S for the day. So, in effect, about £240 which wasn't as bad as I was expecting.
Got my MTSE from Optimum Bikes near York, they were able to reset the PIN code and stated there weren't any updates for it, but weren't able to do the Bluetooth update. Took it to Ducati Manchester, they did the Bluetooth update and an injection update, no charge. Are there different levels of Ducati diagnostic software? A version available to non Duc dealers, or will it be some aftermarket version?
That's the one MONO Motorcycles used on my Multi. https://www.texa.co.uk/solutions/bike They became the garage of choice for any sort of problems on my bike. I can't recommend more.
So, problem still there Rover? I have running issues that did not show up on diag...very frustrating...mine started after I washed the bike and then improved somewhat but still there and I have given up trying to fix it. It is only a problem at low rpm...
Hi Laava, Yes, still there, but not shutting the bike down as it did. Sometimes plays up on start, few attempts and it goes. Funny you mentioned. Just before the fault, I washed the bike (against my own principles ) and dryed some parts with compressed air. It could be that I pushed water inside the switch, just another thing to tell me: "don't ever wash it! Just ride it!
So, is it switchgear causing the problem do you think? Asking because I am wondering the same thing about mine but haven't gotten around to pulling anything apart yet, esp the throttle potentiometer.
Yes, I am sure it is. The start button only or whatever is behind it. I haven't removed the switch completely out of bars, need a special tool according to service manual to unclip from the slot on the bar. However I opened the throttle body and it gave me hard time trying to put the spring back in place. Only later I learned that it is possible to undo the throttle connector and undo the bolts without removing them, opening the body just enough to get it out from the pin that holds in the bar and slide it out (after removing the hand guard and bar end). https://drive.google.com/file/d/13C9ngRMgpM9kTW9zhLTdMbYS4uPW299L/view?usp=drivesdk
Happened to me too!!! Just been sorted by ducati Glasgow. Keyless unit was replaced under warranty. So was switch gear on handlebar. Switched off mid roundabout. Also on motorway. And showed no fault when plugged in. Until it happened again as I picked it up from ducati Glasgow. They couldn't find the fault. And gave me it back. I got 7 miles and it switched off mid roundabout. Seems fine just now.
If you watch your dash when it turns on, it asks for the code. That's why glasgow Ducati thought it was keyless unit. Call them. Ask for ross or colin in service. They'll tell you what was wrong and I'd be asking for a replacement for free. Happe ing to loads of MS
Can I have a download or online link to your video? I want to take it to ducati to show them what happened
And there is this one too, when I was at home, the bike turning on and off, also the steering lock trying to insert the pin on wrong position. It is also public, search "Ducati Multistrada 1200 Dvt cuts out"
I sent them to ducati glasgow and aylesbury for comment. I am in glasgow but bought mine from aylesbury. Just heard my warranty of 12 months as promised at time of buying , wasnt registered by aylesbury so who's paying to have my MS fixed? As far as I'm concerned I have 1 month remaining. Should this issue be a warranty claim? Clearly a defect on multiple bikes. Exactly the same fault!
Same as mine after I nearly came off on a roundabout. I pulled over and recorded this while I waited on ducati Glasgow coming to collect me with their van ( having just gave me the bike back finding no faults despite me telling them it was turning on and off randomly) . Imagine my shock as it switched off mid roundabout and tried to engage steering lock
Mate, be absolutely on top of that! Doesn't matter who's paying as long it is not you! It is definitely a warranty claim, don't let them escape as it happened to me. I fixed myself and bought a new switch for £100.00, which I haven't replaced yet as it is working fine now. If let P&H trying to diagnose and repair God knows how much I would be poorer. The initial diagnose, as I said before, they wanted £150 and probably would come back as "No fault found". Again, be on top of this mate, they need to sort your bike on warranty!
Exactly the same! Show them your and my videos. No matter what else they may find, ask them... No, better... Tell them to change the RH side switch.
