British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. I feel the eu are starting to realise the results of their own making. They goaded, assisted and encouraged the U.K. parliament remainers into trying to overturn the peoples democratic vote, now they wish the useful idiots to feck off and shut up and by the eu themselves saying, this deal or you leave without one because no more extensions

  3. In the previous interview (te mins before) Juncker said "What would be the point of an extension?" which is a very different response imo.

Besides, Juncker although he wants to be the guy who made the deal happen, - doesn't get to make that decison. Juncker will say what ever he needs to now to try and close the deal. If this Blowjob accord fails to get sufficient votes in parliament, Juncker will say something else.

  12. Looking at the numbers, its going to be very difficult to pass.

    Tories = 287
    Ex Tories = 23

Blojob needs 320 to pass the vote and potentially has 310 though probably closer to 300 in reality.

I doubt all the ex Tories will support this -I'm not sure all the 287 will either though most probably will.
Last time 5 LAB supported Mays crappy deal so they theoretically should support this one too.

Its never over 'til the fat lady sings and Arlene wasn't looking very musical in the interviews I saw.

  14. Got to hold my hands up and say that I was wrong about Johnson getting the WA re opened. But who knew the Brit Gov would want to go back and negotiate something worse than the May deal? So maybe no surprise the EU went along with it.

Also, it seems that no deal is now completely dead with the likelihood of a second referendum of Johnson’s deal versus remain being the question.

  15. Sadly I think Boris will be 20 under the number to get it done.
He'll write two letters... the EU will give an extension to early December.
Well have an election, Boris will win, then a proper Brexit... (Hard to you remoaners).
When all this happens I'll gloat and send you back here for a read.

Anyone got any real bets with bookies or friends?

    three in a row possible?
A COURT action which could have the effect of halting the “Super Saturday” sitting of the Westminster Parliament will be heard in the Court of Session in Edinburgh later today.

Anti-Brexit campaigners have lodged a legal action in Scotland’s highest civil court in a bid to ban the Government from putting its proposed Withdrawal Agreement before Parliament.

Jo Maugham QC said he believes the agreement, due to be debated in a special parliamentary sitting tomorrow, contravenes legislation stating it is “unlawful for Her Majesty’s Government to enter into arrangements under which Northern Ireland forms part of a separate customs territory to Great Britain”.

  17. He's entitled to test his argument in the court even one that now seems impartial and that is why they keep using that court in particular.

But lets think a while on that to show the madness of those people

Anti-Brexit campaigners have lodged a legal action in Scotland’s highest civil court in a bid to ban the Government from putting its proposed Withdrawal Agreement before Parliament.

People who see the eu as their future, are now also taking on the eu by defaut because the eu has said, okay, off you go, we have a deal, we wish you well.

The proposed action not only seeks to still overturn a majority democratic vote but to overturn a legal agreement between the U.K. government and the body they love, the eu.
