I never remember this but what is the best date to go Friday, Saturday or Sunday? Also will someone be able to arrange few discounted tickets?
Friday is a little cheaper Lucas, seem to remember from previous visit it was £35 Friday, 1/2 Ton Saturday & Sunday
Sat and sun are about the same, but expect 100,000 people to be there. Takes ages getting out too and make sure you get there early, like 08:00 early. I'm going to try to go on Friday this year as its a little quieter
I like to take a bottle of Moet champagne with me in a bag of ice - bought in Tesco for £20. Or you could buy the same bottle in a champagne bar there for £85. Likewise smoked salmon etc.
Best petrolhead event in the annual calendar this country does by miles, and worth the price of admission imho.
Roving grandstand £85.00 for Friday £113 Sat £113 Sunday £229.00 for the 4 day entry package Not much change left for champers and most the lunch packages sold out cheap seats £41.00 Friday £57.00 Sat/Sun Never been before - may go if weather looks good - either be raining or too hot
Have found that 2 days is ideal: Day 1 to walk the paddock, stalls, and exhibits. Day 2 to rest the feet in the grandstands and enjoy the hill climb.
I've been the last 4 years, prob going to have a break this year as I was starting to find it a bit same ole same ole...:frown: May give the revival a go instead.
I have full 4-day tickets for the Mrs, our two girls and I - with roving grandstand and camping (we are going to borrow my Dad's caravan). I've never been before so any further tips would be much appreciated.
Since you have to book Goodwood tickets well in advance, and they sell out pretty soon, I'm not sure how you are going to decide whether to "go if weather looks good".
The revival is excellent and a little more classy IMO that the FOS. Thats not to say the FOS is rubbish and a bit common, far from it, it really is petrol head nirvana Last year was the first year that tickets were actually sold out for the Saturday. You can normally book tickets upto a week before the event without any serious problem, the only difference is you pick the tickets up at the entrance, just as long as you have a copy of your receipt that is
I was wondering if I could get away with some lycra and a brolly they might let me in for free but I understand it's far more sawphisticated than that
