woke early as always and thought id watch a lil of fp1 .. no joy, couldn't get bt sport fucked about for an hour doing resets and stuff and still nothing.. got home from work and its still fucked.. turns out i have internet but that dies when i try to get bt sport.. so its the dreaded call to bt... on hold for 20mins then 45 on phn while the run tests.. they then tell me they think its coz my broadband is too slow and i should upgrade.. funny, its been fine for 6 years, i have a laptop that i use for ebay and here and a tv.... surely if its the broad band , my lap top would just be slow and not cut out when i try bt sport which wont work at all.. ok, its now a router fault (maybe) but as im out of contract i have to BUY a new one... been out of contract for 5 years but still pay 60-100 every month, surely they can give me a new one? no, but they can put me through to sale who can give me an amazing deal on an upgrade to fibre... 20 mins on hold, then the best salesman ever starts with his over enthusiastic how are you today sir? he got told exactly how i am... he then tells me he can do a great deal for me, the best home hub on the market which will give me ultra fast connections on all devices in any room in my house... i live in a studio flat and have a laptop and a tv... but i will also get dozens of extra chancels and free weekend calls.. i dont have a land line and the only reason im with bt is they have motogp... anyhu, he can do all this for an amazing 69 per month.. i currently pay 47, or should but they have started charging me for bt tv and sport even though after a 2 hour call 6 months back the agreed not to... ok, time to tell em to poke it.. hello, wait sir, actually we can do the upgrade including fibre, bt tv and bt sport for 42 per month... obviously i ask why he didnt say that 15 mins back... some waffle about he thought i wanted a multi room hub blah blah.. so whats the difference in this hub? oh, no difference sir... bunch of cunts... i bet there is nothing wrong with my current hub... nearly 2 hours on the phn... and they have to send a tech out to connect me so half a day off work.. i would put money on the tech either calling and changing the time slot and or turning up and not being able to do the job... cunts....
most people only have to deal with tradesmen once in a blue moon, tradesmen have to deal with clients everyday. whilst i know full well there are many shit, let down, pig ignorant tradesmen out there, we are not all the same and i can promise you, there is so many shit, let down pig ignorant clients out there... clients that think they can make as many changes to dates and details as they want (most of em think for no extra charge) with no thought what so ever as to the impact its has our your schedules or that of your next client.. we are often held to ransom when money is still owed and treated like 2nd class citizens because we do manual labour...
I don’t mind that he didn’t come, particularly if he is ill. What really does piss me off is the fact he didn’t communicate it to me till I’d chased several times, and 4 hours later than he said he’d be on site. He is married so she could have rung or text on his behalf first thing so I didn’t waste my morning waiting for him to rock up. And it’s good manners and good practice to keep a client on board especially as I’ve paid him for the materials up front.
no, i get you mate and you are not wrong at all... i was just pointing out the other side of the coin as we tradeys are all ways getting a bashing!!! i currently (kinda) work for a company so am not directly hit in the pocket (if the company makes money i could possibly get more!) but the amount of times a client/designer/architect cant make a meeting last min, come up with an answer to a simple question or wants you to start a job on a given date then changes said date is staggering.. couple this with the clients that get you to start a job, knowing full well they dont have the money to see it through and its a fucken nightmare out there... no to mention the just plain arseholes that we often have the pleasure of having to spend months on end pandering to....
There are some great matchs to watch for sure,& be prepared for some shock upsets................watch this space
And don't mention Pinterest or houzz all the assholes looking at bespoke high end jobs and wanting jobs done for peanuts
