You will enjoy it, I took the MS down there in April. Had a great time. Sardinia was bigger than expected. Corsica was lovely.
Sorry about the lack of posts. Too busy riding and relaxing till now. This was day 4 ... down through the mountains in the centre of Corsica. I swear we only had 2km that was straight. These were the twistiest twisties I’ve ever done ...
The Mrs opted to go in the van because of the forecast of heavy twisties and rain so I could up the pace and rather than bimbling mid-pack with a pillion I stuck the GS into Dynamic mode and was up the front pushing the guide to go faster ... which he kindly did. An amazing days riding. Probably the best roads I’ve ever ridden for twisties. It was literally mile after mile and hour after hour of race-track like chicanes linked into each other oh yes, and here is the fog @Harry Bell Bonifacio ...
Day 6 was a rest day in Alghero. The Mrs and I did a boat trip to see a huge sea cave and then had a looooong boozy lunch and a wander around the town.
Looks a great trip so far. If you visit porto cervo in the north of Sardinia, you might need deep pockets. I visited a few years ago. Seemed to be the place where the jet set moore up their super yachts. There was a Bugatti showroom on the quay side! A different world to mine! Enjoy.
The food is amazing .... French is good and Italian is just the best The long boozy lunch I mentioned above was an amazing €15 for three courses (choice of two starters, two mains and a sorbet to finish). We had a posh seafood dinner that night which was out of this world. My Mrs likes taking photos of her food for Instagram so here you go ... Starter First plate Second plate Desert In Alghero almost every other shop is a gelateria. I don’t know if you remember from Spain, but my favourite is rum n raisin
Today was the last riding day of the tour but we had to say goodbye and leave early to get our flight home. Stood in the check-in queue at the airport right now. Home soon. How’s the weather?
Thanks for inviting us all along for those vistasthe weather has been fantastic today in surrey/sussex.
Great stuff. Thanks for posting. I’m sure you’ve whetted a lot of appetites. The maps are especially useful. Fly rides are a good thing to do in the winter months. Helps fend of the blues. I’ll put that on my list to do. Looks like you had a really enjoyable trip.
Great write up very much enjoyed and appreciated. Your views on the Klim suit would also be interesting when you get a minute
