  1. The answer is; yes it is.

  2. The K&N ones are good. Integral nut for getting a spanner on them. OE Ducati ones are not dear but having a special tool for them is handy.

  3. Thanks. I just wanted one straight away ... looks identical to the ProFilter one that was on there apart from manufacturers name.

I do need a better tool for the job though, dented it slightly with my strap wrench. It'll be fine.

  4. I wouldn't use those K&N ones. I have read reports of those nuts failing at the weld and oil leaking from them.

  5. I’ve used them for years. Never had a problem. Only filter I ever *had* a problem with was OE. They’re only pressed metal so if one is ham fisted then I don’t doubt they can be ripped. Worked well on cars and bikes for me for years though.

  6. Have used the k and n on several bikes. I can get from local auto parts store as opposed to bike dealer 30 miles away. No problems for me.

  7. Surprised your using a strap to put the filter on.
Usually a drop of oil on the seal and then winding it up the thread by hand is tight enough.
I've never had a filter come off of any car or bike doing it this way (so far...).

  8. Thanks John, first external filter I've ever done I think (in recent memory) my other bike doesn't even have a filter but then it hasn't run in 12 years either ...

  9. no problem. Interested to hear / see what your other bike is now ;):yum

  10. Ha ha, Husqvarna TE610 SuperMoto. Must get it running again!

  11. Nice :upyeah:
I was expecting you to say something from before they started using filters on bikes ;)
Know the feeling on getting things running again. Too many toys, not enough time...
